World of Warships Blitz - Soviet cruiser "Shchors" review

We've featured this ship a couple of times, but never in her own review. So, with all the shiny new USN cruisers out there, let's take a look at the original T7 light.
I had two battles recorded, and they were ... let's say, "special", so I left them both in, for the laughs.

Love my Shchors. When I'm in a North Carolina or Bismarck, Chapayevs are the bane of my existence.

I know, this is one of the ships I'd actually disengage from in a BB. They're almost impossible to hit if they're sailing at max range and know what they're doing, and burning down while wasting salvo after salvo is no fun :)

Just like almost every single Soviet ship in the game it's a paper ship and never existed. Public Service Announcement to all Shchors players: Stop rushing BBs to get your torpedoes off, use *Kiting Tactic* it's super effective. 10:22 when you here that music you know something spectacular is gonna to happen

I remember playing in the team skirmish event. There were 3 shchors on the enemy team. We got obliterated by them. aaaaannndd we played another match where we went against the same team. Their high explosive is not just annoying but deadly too

They are the original HE spammers, and actually rather difficult to hit at range. Plus, the AP isn't bad, either, if you get close enough.

That was an epic finish to a total derp game. Yes, DD players, if you smoke up, you still need to vary your speed and course :)

If you enjoyed the Shchors then you will definitely like the Chapayev, more guns, longer range and accurate. Found most success hugging a competent friendly BB, helping to burn down its target and taking out any DD who tries to mess with my shield 🤣.. the range allows you to play around your BBs even if they are playing conservative.

ehrell I didn’t bother with the dm Donskoi .. T9 is rough + unless u have a tonne of blueprints laying around it’s hardly worth using it on a T9 .. I used the Chapayev to free exp my way to Moskva and then blew my BP and silver to fully upgrade it..

ehrell well I had about 140k free exp to start with.. so once I researched the Donskoi it was basically like grinding for it a second time in regards to how much exp I needed.. then all u need is some $$ to convert the exp.. I enjoyed the grind and still play the Chapayev often even after getting the Moskva

Yes no rush with Soviet’s cruiser unless necessary. Must hide, take distance and spam HE from far while watch BB burning :) (I remember I met team mate who use Fuso going to cap enemy base while the remaining time was 50 secs left..............)

They're super annoying when you're in a BB :) Many players don't seem to be aware of the game timer, or have an idea how long it takes to cap. Can be quite funny :)

I always have the deck fire prevention module in slot 2 on German BBs. Yes, they're rather flammable.

well, teaches them not to sail in a straight line :) I love it when someone smokes up, and then just unloads with rapid-firing guns. Like, you know I can see you, right? Just aim where the shots are coming from. Or drop some torps into a smoke :)

They're quite different. Let's do a quick rundown: * USN light cruisers - support ships, work best when staying with the team, keeping destroyers at bay and doing AA duty. Aiming at distance can be a bit challenging. No more torps starting at tier 6. USS Dallas is universally disliked. * USN heavy cruisers - sturdy, good firepower, great AA. Easier to play than the lights IMO, no torps. Starting at tier 6. * IJN cruisers - starting with heavies at tier 5. Good fire starters, dangerous torpedoes, stealthy. Ranged ships, not too good in a knife fight. * British cruisers - light cruisers all the way to tier 10. AP only, no fires for you. Very squishy ships, do not broadside, but all of them have torpedoes (single fire) and smoke screens. More like oversized destroyers with really nice guns. Can be a bit challenging to play against battleships for beginners. * French cruisers - excellent lights up to tier 6. Very good fire starters, good torps, manoeuvrable. Can't really say much about the heavy cruisers from there on, have only played Algerie, she's ok for her tier. * German cruisers - very hard-hitting AP, poor HE shells. Plenty of torps, but short range. Tier 5 and 6 are among the best per tier IMO. Once you reach tier 8, they're quite tanky. Fun line, although the Roon at tier 9 is a bit odd. * Soviet cruisers - gunboats. Torpedoes are there, but more opportunistic. Light cruisers until tier 8, well, you've seen what they can do. Haven't played the heavies, but they're quite good as well.

Thanks Terry and Kaleb! I went with the German Cruiser line and free exp’d to the tier 4. I’m really happy with it so far. Quick reloading guns and torpedoes. Good combination

Once you reach the Yorck, remember to use HE instead of AP. She's the only ship in the line where the HE is better. Then with the Hipper, back to AP.

I prefer kiting, due to the gun layout. Double-steering allows me to dodge shells at range, while keeping all my guns on target. Too many people these days know that you can vary ship speed, so I usually use that on ships that can go bow-in

Good thing you asked me these words, Anyway I want you to a Guide on the World of Warships blitz Missions they have changed a lot back then but now a days you can get rewards from the Mission Crates but these Mission Crates have names of the own the one Crates I’m trying to unlock is called Premium Ship Crates i remember the others but sadly I forgot the names also there is no one talking about it and no one have uploaded videos on this I think myself maybe you can upload a video on this but I’m sure you will have other things and work to get out of way

👉👉I did some quick research to learn proper Japanese ship pronunciations that nobody seems to get right. There are 2 destroyers who's names are routinely mispronounced. 1). AKATSUKI: 👎Wrong pronunciation: 4 syllables: "A-cot-soo-ki" 👍Proper: 3 syllables: Ah-cot-ski 2). MUTSUKI: 👎Wrong: 3 syllables: Moot-soo-ki 👍Correct: 2 syllables: "Moot-ski" There are probably others that I can't think of.

it's not just the IJN ships, the Italian ones can be tricky as well, as for the Soviets. I need to look them up again also, I'm probably guilty of that, too. I usually use forvo.com/ and check for native speaker submissions. At least the German ones I'm ok with :)
