World of Warships Blitz - Soviet premium cruiser "Moskva" review

It's one of those reviews that I've been avoiding - but since we started the week with a rejected design proposal, we may as well :) This is project 66, the "middle cruiser", a.k.a. Stalingrad's little sister. Used to be a tech tree ship, now you have to pay for the privilege of not having to sail the Petropavlovsk.

Here is a general rule with the Moskva, use AP exclusivley. When it comes to Moskva you need to learn how to aim at long range. If you are able to hit the bow and stern on battleships you can get full pens. I have gotten citadels on Montana's and Yamato's. For dds like khaba and kleber you need to use AP and aim at the right spot. Both of those dds have enough armor to get armed by AP shells from moskva. I have gotten 100k a lot of times in this ship. Hi Terry, a lot of your comments are true, but Moskva is at long range and using AP good. Got citadels on most Battle Ships. The dispersion is very good like a laser sword - you can delete destroyers on max range. Always keep moving and stay on long range. Moskva is a mixed back, but she is fun…. For this ship, I would recommend you always aim for bow, stern or superstructures when shooting at bb from any range. The guns are accurate enough to hit those areas consistently.

Well I have all tier 10 cruisers and I must say that the only thing I’m afraid with Moskva is the enemy carrier… No Hindenburgs(excellent ship though),no smolensks no bbs…you just need to play to its max gun range use only AP and always in the front,only the six guns and everything became simple! Excellent ship in my opinion. Scary to enemy cruisers punish the enemy dds with its laser accurate guns and gives back good slaps in enemy dds… If you give it another chance Terry you will love it!

I remember Moskva. However, I saw Riga as a teir 9 Moskva when the heavy cruisers came out. Petro reminds me of Stalingrad, tho.

I respect your opinion sir.but imo Moskva is still the best t10 heavy cruiser. That slight shell velocity nerf is somewhat noticable but still my go to t10 cruiser.(75k+,70 wr💪) It's an AP ship.switch to HE only against dds at close range.bow and stern shots on bbs always give me full pens. Maybe RNG wasn't with you in those two battles😪. Thanks for the video!

Terry this one is not a cruiser in my term, kinda cruiser killer battlecruiser. Does not a dd hunter. You have to use her speed like don’t stop and use fire range. Kinda offensive battlecruiser. With great secondary !

Im so hyped, can't watch it right now... Shiiit. But I have something interesting to watch, when I go to bed! 😌 I will edit this comment then I think, maybe I have some questions again.😅 Btw. I checked out my Friesland smoke today or yesterday, its the new day here, and I have to say, mistweaver is kinda incredible there, much better then on fuel smokes. It's 43 seconds on 2. Kinda long, after 47 seconds I can use the next one. Edit: just one question: is it possible, that you will make another Smolensk video in the future? I'm wondering. This ship seems to be so bad, so many russian ships are strange, but then there is the Smolensk and it seems to be the strongest ship overall if not directly deleted... Awesome video, very informative, the book will be an interesting source! I think we all are interested in your future knowledge on more comparisons and details

So, I want to bring this up to you because you mentioned how good Hindenburg is at slinging AP. It applies to Moskva too. I think you should try using AP more often and switch to HE only to fight DDs at close range, same as the Hindenburg. IMHO, Moskva was the best t10 tech tree cruiser when I got it. Maybe spending a little more time might actually help you figure it out as well.

All software I use for making videos is free / open source. I record with the built-in screen recorder (Android), Audacity for mic audio recording and editing, Kdenlive for video editing, and Gimp for image editing.

Typically when I see a Moskva, I see them racking up like 70k damage. Then again, playing a GK is a lot bigger than this. The Moskva…is sorta maybe a bit power crept. How does she compare to something like the Stalingrad? Since they are maybe sister ships

The Stalingrad class consisted of 3 ships, Stalingrad, Kronstadt and Moskva. There was a concurrent Kronstadt class developed(but scrapped in favor of the Stalingrad class in game). The Kron class was supposed to be a CC armed with 380mm, Stalin did not like that he preferred the Stalingrad CC armed with 305mm. He wanted to use that as a coastal defense ship. Odd the Poltava CC armed with 356mm was also rejected(with designed being sent to gulag or death I forget). The Poltava CC would have made a better coaster defense CC then the Stalingrad class. Oddly enough we get the Kronstadt in game but as a sister ship to the Stalin instead yet classed as the Kron class. WG gets silly. They should have actually made Kron a Kron class if they wanted to call it Kron class. They do that a lot though Vittorio Veneto is a Littorio class not a VV class, Gneisenau is a Scharnhorst class bot Gneis class. The new US CA Tulsa is supposed to have 3x3 203mm but they have it as a 3x2 203mm. They get silly from time to time.

@@Swellington_ I have Kron and Moskva, both are really fun ships. I think I prefer Kron, at least I perform better in Kron. I’d like to get Stalingrad eventually, but not too concerned. I really like the CC’s in game. Fun little mixed class. Graf Spee, Alaska, Repulse, Kron, Moskva, Dunkerque, Kongō, Scharn/Gneis and Odin etc etc.

In the first match you been too close its no utility cruiser its a mini bb The ap is very strong, turret travers is one option, i dont have fire supremacy but only marksman and use dispersion module 5degree base isnt great but playing longrange sniper at the early game im used to it from playing bb .. late game when you go in the moskva isnt agile enough to turn enough to wish for turret trav Legendary commander for skills like bullet proof & 6. sense

Not sure if it is the same ship modeled in the game, but apparently the Moskva is on fire and crew evacuated. Ukrainians claiming to have hit it with 2 Neptune anti-ship missiles.

No. The one currently on fire is a missile cruiser built in the 80s, I think. This is a hypothetical 50s project.

I mostly agree with you but here: terrible guns??? how can u not like petro and Moskva ? 😬🙄🙄 those are some of the best T10 heavy cruisers in this game . Moskva is with average 70k damage almost my best cruiser / only topped by Puerto Rico where I have a average of 80k damage . -the accuracy is also hardcore awesome ! Cheers

First of all in Tier IX was and still is the Dmitri Donskoi (Riga came later) and second.....You still own us a Graf Spee video from two years ago and many other more you have say. Stop teasing us and promising videos you will never do :(
