I agree with the anime part. Kancolle the anime was pretty boring excluding some funny and epic scenes. I personally like Kancolle (the game, even though I have never played it yet) in terms of variety of ships in game. Also, I wonder if Verniy will be a Russian premium. If so, that would be so awesome yet so sad at the same time.

The community is generally great, but like WoT, there's always an exception or two. I am playing as the Farragut destroyer on the ice map and I decide to play more conservatively as I don't want to die without making a worthwhile contribution to my team. The enemy team made it more difficult for me to get close with torpedoes that have a range of 4.5km as the attacked the objectives on the flanks of the map and put them in the more open water. If I were a cruiser, I would be ok with fighting in the open with other Clevelands, Pensacolas, and Mogamis, but I'm not ok with that in a destroyer. I decide to turn to the A cap and wait near an iceberg closer to the center of the map and come to a full stop. When a Nagato and Fuso battleship got closer (9km) to me, i sped up and popped my smoke, concealing my position. I rush the Nagato and launch a full spread of torps at him, which is 8 in the Farragut, and killed him. I didn't want to die by the fuso, so i tried (and almost failed) to sail around a big iceberg to catch him on the other side with reloaded torp tubes. While doing this, a cruiser that died early in the game called me out for being a bad destroyer captain because i wasn't facing a fuso battleship head on with a destroyer that has to wait 1 minute to reload torps. I then told him he shouldn't label me as unskillful because he had NO KILLS. He said he had 53 hits...IN A CRUISER, which is not uncommon for cruisers and goes on to tell me that i'm a "suckass destroyer" for not being able to cap another objective in time to win. some people are scumbags that think their shit don't stink...

Ah, the times when Jingles was sitting side on to battleships and didn't think of angling his ship, whilst simulatously wondering why the enemy ship would do such a thing as in sailing straight at him (and not noticing that the enemy Kongo with her four guns was averaging more damage per salvo than Jingles with his full eight guns).

Jingles, FWIW - My uncle, Jack Hill (USNA '41), was an officer in the #1 turret of the USS Washington when it sank the Kirishima on the night of 14-15 November 1942 off Guadalcanal. In 1982 I was qualified to operate the Mk 8 Rangekeeper and the Mk 41 Stable Vertical which were the heart of the BB main gun fire control system. Unfortunately I was not assigned to one of the recommissioned BBs.

The Mogami-class was planned with 20.3cm guns in twin turrets, but were changed to 15.5cm triple turrets due to the Washington treaty. Retrofitted with the 20.3cm guns later on, and some of the Mogami-class (Mogami and I think Kumano) were converted into hybrid-carriers.

the converted hybrids are actually a subclass of the mogami. its tone and another ship. mogami and tone is related but they have a diffrent gun arrangement and diffrent armor

I read somewhere that the design philosophies made the difference. The British warships were designed to patrol an empire and had lighter armor and larger crew spaces. The German warships only had to patrol in the North Sea, so they had much heavier armor and smaller crew spaces with more bulkheads and greater compartmentalization.

Jingles... you have raised the bar on your, allready high, standard of vids. These WoWarships vids are an absolute joy to watch. Your massive knowledge of naval matters shines though. Regarding rules of the road at sea, I had the opportunity to qualify as OOD underway onboard a Destroyer. During this training, I was taught there was an unlisted rule of the road that was considered cardinal called the Law of Gross Tonnage. This law holds that it is the responsibility of the smaller, more maneuverable vessel to preserve its buoyancy by getting out of the way of the larger, more resilient vessel. Put that way, right of way takes second place to desire to remain afloat.

Dear Jingles The two British Battle Cruiser squadrons were deployed independently of the main battle line at the Battle of Jutland, though as you know they had attached the 5th Battle Squadron of fast battleships. They were not directly under Jellico's command, but rather that of Beatty. The losses suffered were inflicted by German battle cruisers not battle ship. But you knew all of that right?

Dear sir, it is about 2:30 a.m. here in Texas, I just got my Kongo. Ran two games, both loses, BUT that thing kicks all kinds of ass. Both games were three kill games. The second game was interesting because two of my kills were ST. Louis cruisers, I have no idea why they tried to close with me, it did not go well for them. Third ship was some sort of IJN cruiser, but he died in a long range duel. The only thing I had to fear were TB's, however I gave the two carriers a good beating, have no idea why they came forward, visual range is great. I'm liking this. i did it ass backwards and upgraded my fire control system, but got the EXP I need to upgrade the propulsion. Got what I needed in two games. Going to bed now.

One interesting fact about the Kongo - Class Battlecruisers/Fast Battleships was, that at the time they were built, they were superior over both the Lion and Tiger Class Battlecruisers which they where based upon. It's often referred to as the best battlecruiser of its time. Due to the various updates it got later, it actually had still a good fighting chance in the second world war.

Jingles you are great this is why i watch you because I could anybody play a game but only you give me the history and background of whatever ship or plane, or tank your using, I love world war 2 history and when I watch your videos not only do I learn more about the game and how to play the game but I learn history as well and you know the old saying knowledge is power, anyway thanks Jingles I always enjoy your videos.

Some of the modules have changed since BETA (the guns mostly...you only get the middle gun now...no 3 gun upgrade). This is really an excellent Battleship primer and worth watching. Everything except the final balancing of the guns and a couple other things are different.

my view is that the ship attacking at around 22:00 was doing well on his objective, he turned head on, reducing his profile for successful shots, if the cruiser hadn't started firing he had a good tactic

I like how I knew all the history behind battleships before watching this video. I have the old old Time Life Books "The Dreadnoughts" book and I've read it literally dozens of times. Passion for naval warfare = high
