With this ship seeing tier 10 snd 11 most of the time now it definitely needs it HP upped to at least 43,000 or so to be viable in today's WOWs.

Ibuki is better than she gets credit for much of the time, in my opinion. She is the pinnacle of the traditional IJN heavy cruiser design as represented in World of Warships.

Well I just came across your channel, but really enjoying your episodes as I try to improve. I just put a new captain on Mogami to prep him for Ibuki, and switched to the 8" gun configuration. So I then can keep the old captain for 6"...

I know that I am very, VERY, late to the party on this lol But I do want to make a simple counter argument on my end for taking the double rudder shift mod. Not to challenge you in a meaningless way, but to offer it up as a kind of alternative framing for the upgrade and the play style it creates :D I think that taking the spotter plane, range mod and double rudder shift give your so much gun play to work with. Sure, the shells will be floating for a while and landing at very steep angles on to the enemy, but the range you get and the single shot salvo, or double slot salvo (if you're brave/bold), from stealth onto larger targets all but ensures a fire or two onto the target of choice. When the enemy see your boat firing upon them, they tend to shoot back at you given the general squishiness of the boats frame and armor layout. Due to the extra distance and range, plus the double rudder shift modifications, you have compounding benefits to help you evade and diminish the oncoming damage. Less enemies can shoot at you (you out range them), those that can are doing so at their upper range brackets (those shots will have less then great shell dispersion factors working against them), The added distance also means the enemy shells will take slightly longer for them to arrive at your ship, and you have more maneuverability to get your ship out of the way of the shells. I love this set-up especially for the earlier segments of a game as there are tons of large battle Ships, Heavier Cruisers and Cruiser/Battleship hybrids. Meaning lots of fun targets to patiently wait for. You can also get some lucky strikes against Destroyers that think they're under the pressure of fewer guns than they think are actually there! They might see your Teams DD's and a few far-flung BB's from your team. But they won't be ready for the accurate snipping of the Ibuki with a few consistent and precise shots! Plus, as the game goes on and fewer and fewer ships remain in the game, you'll be able to pocket your healing charges and your overall HP pool for those more tense final moments in the match. Not to mention the fact you have great repositioning with the ships base speed and decent base concealment. Combined with the great range, your guns will most certainly have the means to be a part of any engagement on the map! and you'll be better able to dictate when and how you wish to enter that gunfight! ^w^

It's a strong case, honestly. I prefer gun reload because the game rewards damage more than anything else, but as I always remind destroyer players: you can't do damage when you're dead. I think double rudder is a better pick than range, that's for sure.

I remember taking range mod when I first unlocked Ibuki and I got slapped all the time. She was literally the first cruiser I unlocked where range mod was a realistic option and I had zero map awareness. 😂 Now I play her like that and I make it work. But I sure did bleed for it. So yeah, take Raptor's advice and start out with reload mod. 👍

Did they nerf the base health? On shipmonitor I see, simarlarly as in your video, the 39k flat, however I obtained the ship like, yesterday and have a base health of 35,1k!! Does this make sense? Would it change your opinion about the ship. I played it now a couple of times, but its difficult, there's destroyers that have more health than Ibuki..

If you just obtained the ship, there will be a hull upgrade you have to unlock with XP and equip in order to achieve the max health pool.

@@SeaRaptor Thanks man, after your video I've been focusing on the stealth part and easing back a little bit more. Not just fly in there. And it works, well sort of :D I don't have the XP yet for the upgrade, but that along with the Surv. Exp. should bring me there. Thanks for getting back.. keep up the good work!!
