World of Warships: Prinz Eugen - 1v1 Ranked

I had 1v1 with a tirpitz earlier in my Massachusetts. We decided to go secondaries only, both full secondary build. It was so close I won with only around 10HP remaining.

Prinz Eugen for me was phenomenal! Trashed any cruiser with AP, trashed any DD because of the amazing hydro. BB's weren't really problematic, laughed my ass off when I chased Bismarcks lol while tanked them. CV's were the only problem. Hipper was same good, but Eugen's heal made it so easier.

I had no problems with CVs in my PE, I could dodge anything they threw at me (PE with all rudder shift mods). Only thing that game me trouble was Massachusetts. Other than that, easily ranked out

Well I mostly also won against CV's thanks to the cap and heal. Just they're were the most problematic ones, the others were way too easy.

I played one match, North Cal vs. Richelieu and we rammed each other. That's all the 1v1 excitement I could take.

While driving the Le Terrible I took a few of these and a Hipper or two down trick was to spoof em with one of your fwd torp sets to force a turn then use the other side while their rudder was still committed.

In Prinz Eugen I have won against a CV with points as I capped both caps and lasted the game out against the planes, and I was even close to firing at the CV ... when I suddenly won the game.

Isn't it kinda unfair? The CV got more than enough planes for just a single enemy and your AA gun can be permanently broken after some rocket/dive attack runs.

@@GriseWeisshark I also had some fighter planes, but in this particular case I won have caught up to him in time even if the time hadn't caught up. In a recent battle I got totally wasted, though I still got both caps.

i loved the prince, after getting to rank 4 with my Kaga i hit a stalemate, so i switched to the PO and shit on everything, even with CVs in play you can cap and run with decent AA and fighter combo, they will struggle to kill you if you can evade torps and mitigate bomb and AP drops, the biggest issue i faced was enterprise with his but load of AP bombs and hard-hitting rockets and mass, the mass would just find a position to hunker down where you cant rush without losing a majority of your health and would kite to prevent torps

I started with Tirp for about 5 matches and then did all the rest with the Prinz Eugen..only lost about 5-6 matches the whole run.

Just pick Tirpitz/Zeppelin or Enterprise and steamroll all the way to rank 1. I used Tirpitz and lost only 5 games (all against another Tirpitz and Kagero).

A BB with torps should not be allowed in this 1 vs 1 ranked mode. It gives them too much advantage.

ザム the torpedoes don’t make or break the tirpitz I used it to rank out and 90%of the battles my torps were broken because they’re so fragile it’s the secondaries that’s make the tirpitz or Bismarck so dangerous in this game mode

@@Dirty_Civilian_1776 Use mod and perk to reduce torp tubes crit % - and they become very healthy. And just sail directly at enemy BB - this will cover your tubes behind secondaries.

Aerroon, your torpedo range indicator is imbedded in the minimap, for German ships with identical hydro range you don’t need to click the box for it. You can use it as a reference. Just a tip ;) P.S. I also used PE and Massachusetts for this mod. I liked it very much. Never had this much fun for a very long time

From my experience, Massachusetts is by far the best ship for 1v1s. It has a very strong torpedo protection and AA. Made it to rank 1 with only 4 losses, 3 of which were to the same player also in a Massachusetts (late night mm). As long as you don't get close to Tirpitz you can secondary farm her and you can rush just about everything else. Eugen and Hipper you also have to be careful about. Things like Loyang and Benson are probably the hardest counter but i didn't encounter many. All the Le Fantastiques that I ran into I was capable of killing with ease. My last game I came across an Enterprise and only took about 30k or so while running him down and killing him. Overall Massachusetts is a super solid pick, but the playstyle can be bland.

I played first half as Massachusetts and second half as Tirpitz and was able to rank out and finish off both US and DE base xp directives in one day!

Made clips of all my fights in the Eugen. Drop concealment, go rudder shift all the way and go AA for the CV's you encounter. Done this with 11 point captain and beaten Tirpitzes most of the time. DD's no problem except the french if they rush you. Also got 1 game with over 106 plane kills against a CV.

Smashed it all the way to rank 1 in the tirpitz IFHE - It was the most fun I HAVE HAD IN YEARS IN THIS GAME. +1 WG.

Im playing bismarck and tirpitz is the only ship ive really been struggling against.

Ive been using bismarck and the only ships that ive had any problems with are tirpitz and the hipper class cruisers. Mostly because i run a secondary build so cruisers without torps get shredded and dds often dont get to fire their torps before theyre dead. Usually i manage to outgun bbs except for the tirpitz because u cant really get close to it because you dont have time to evade the torps.

I start ed off with P. E. but after a couple of games i came to same conclusion as flamu. Full tirpitz ihfe secondaries. And by not rushing hippers and P. Es i pwnd them Hard. 19 games 1 loss and that was against another tirp. So tirp was by far the strongest pick.

Torp angles on the Atago make it too vulnerable. I am running Bismark with a total Brawl build. It is almost OP.

83.72% to rank 1 for me - only Prinz Eugen played :P All my losses except one were due do myself playing with my food and this biting me in the @ss... This is definitely the strongest CA/CL for this mode. There is one problem though - MM. I faced mostly CAs, occasionally BBs, rarely DDs and only one CV.

What server? I rarely saw cruisers, mostly BBs, DDs, and several CVs. I was running IFHE Manual Secondaries Eugen with double rudder shift mod, I should check my winrate tomorrow but I lost no more than a few matches.

Hipper worked great for me, i'd rather have played with the Prinz Eugen cause of the heal, but did fine with Hipper citadelling cruisers at close range, the Atago was horrible.

At the risk of sounding like a newb, I'm not sure why I can't get a single equitable match in the 1v1 Ranked battles. I use a VIII Baltimore with no torpedoes and I haven't been paired with anything less than another cruiser with torpedoes, along with DD's, BB's, and Carriers.

Balti is weak in one on one engagement because of the lack of torps and thin armor. And her strong AA suite doesn't help much in less you are facing a carrier. But if its a graf zeppelin... yaa you dead in a gunfight. Seriously, i've killed a balti using just my secondaries primarily with only light plane harrassment. Best cruisers for this are hipper and prinz eugen... and thats about it. The rest are paper armor. If it has a heal it can do alright so an atago may be decent. If you have a bismarck, she's a great non premium battleship for this mode, and tirpitz is considered the best. In my ranked season, it was really only the tirpitz that i had problems with. I ranked out using only the graf zeppelin though so i can't lay claim to how to fight with the other ships.

If you start running Bismarck or Tirpitz. Forget about AFT and Stealth. RPF and IFHE are the way to go :) Also GZ is extremely strong. Now I just wish I had the Eugen :(

If you have Bis or Tirp, ditch them both and get the Eugen. Eugen craps on Bis and Tirp since their 380mm guns cannot overmatch Eugen's 27mm armor plating. And BB captains will be BB captains and refuse to fire HE, especially german HE. xD

i have played some rankes 1v1 too. i am using the Loyang. Very good against all dd's. and some cruisers. only prinz eugen and cleveland shit on her... i had a benson just abandon the game because of my hydro. he never even hit me, never tried shooting at me even ouside of smoke, turrets + tubes were turning but no shells

i didn't even bother respeccing my captain. I just slapped my Hindenburg captain on the Eugen and went with it. Did rank 10 to 4 and lost only 2 games. Went to bed and continued today for the last ranks and although the opponents did a better job I still got rank 1 fast enough. Not losing a star is so nice but I wish we could do 1vs1 after getting rank 1.

Definitely not. Though maybe. A clanmate of mine ragequit from getting owned by CVs. I won every single match vs a CV in a very one-sided manner. In other words: It's only good vs stuff you can reliably kill *before* the timer gives the win to the capper. (So basically only vs BBs as others will just dodge)

mmm, depends. Secondary graf zeppelin is exceptionally powerful, harrass with planes then use fatality (secondary.) As for the rest, its a damage race. And if they are dd's they can play passively by just getting into the cap and then smoke hiding. Or if french, run you down like screaming demons. Most recomendations i've seen though are for tirpitz/bismarck or eugen/hipper due to turtleback armor preventing gun cit's, great guns, torps (for most of emm), secondaries (BB's). Personally, ranked out with graf zeppelin with a 90% WR. 3 losses to a tirpitz, 2 of which were autopilot screw ups, and 1 loss to a prinz eugen, again to an autopilot screw up.
