World of Warships - Quick Cut: Tier X Premium American Battleship USS Rhode Island

Wargaming has recently introduced Tier X Premium American battleship USS Rhode Island into the game in patch 0.13.0. To say that I am skeptical of this ship is an understatement. Her little sister - Tier VII's USS Florida - is a ship that I loathe so thoroughly that my chat requests that I play it just to torture me. I expect much of the same out of this ship... but as I dig into the numbers and compare the two ships, I start to find things that I like. Does that translate into a good game? See for yourself.

I'm not usually a battleship player, I prefer faster more maneuverable ships with comfortable reloads and utility. I've found that Rhode Island is especially strong in the second half of a game where she can use her speed and radar to lock down caps or hunt down those pesky surviving destroyers, and her sub-par armor isn't much of a drawback if the opposing battleships are dead or close to it. She honestly feels more like a battle cruiser that a battleship and I like that.

He he double negative on the Kronstadt, but I got your point. - Hmm Rhode Island's gimmick seems to be quick-firing, accurate 14" guns, a turbo and Radar. Hmm I wants one!

just so you know and can understand the guns....this boat has Battle CRUISER DISPERSION ! .... Florida has Battle SHIP DISPERSION !....AND, the RI also, like you stated, gets access to the Dispersion module in Slot 6 ......the rest of the story is that the speed and agility, ( use the rudder shift in Slot 4), makes it a Battle Cruiser, and a damn fast one......What's NOT to like ????? ........OnWard.......

Agreed Florida. One of my biggest buyers remorse moments in wows was buying Florida. She’s supposed to be about sniping and laying down accurate fire of small shells. She couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn from inside the barn, not to mention she’s just a giant citadel.

Rhode Island...2 things not same as Georgia.#1 Rhode Island deck armor not same as fast BB's, #2 2nd daries not same accuracies as Massachusetts, Georgia & Ohio
