Does the off grid function work automatically when grid is lost or is it a manual setting?

@@smasolartechnology It says Off-grid capable in the datasheet you link to. Ofcause batteries are needed but it says nothing about an extra device.

Oh, sorry we misunderstood. You can use our SMA Sunny Tripower X in an off-grid setting or at the time of a black out as long there is a storage within the whole system. For a complete off-grid system the SMA Sunny Tripower X should be set to country code: "offgrid" Sunny regards, your SMA Social Media Team

As I understand it, the TriPower is a 3 phase inverter. As such, it will not work with the majority of US redsidential systems. When will a split phase hybrid inverter be available in the US? Or will we need to use the inverter/SunnyBoy Storage/Automatic Backup Unit combination to achieve grid independence/backup capability?

Good but it's pity that you can't use / integrate PLC communication with TIGO TAP and remove the RS485 CAT 5/6 cable from roof and also cloud connect . This can be good improvment. Is almost without synergy without TIGO and SMA.

The warranty on these is only 5 years for domestic/residential use in Australia, every other manufacturer has at least 10 years here, some of your smaller inverters have the 5+5 option but not this, the US market seems to have it on most of the TriPower series also, but extra $800 to buy another 5 years, when you claim it’s built to last 20? Serious SMA, this isn’t good marketing on top of it being $1000 more than the alternatives. Can you fix this please? I also had to wait 15mins on the phone to SMA Australia till they could find the warranty information, you’d think this would be on hand and ready. Disappointing.

@@smasolartechnology I was hoping for a more specific answer, on which distributors can bridge the gap to sell Euro-spec products to US customers. I have trouble getting responses, every time I try to quote products SMA only builds for the rest-of-world market.
