WORLD RECORD 10 Minutes to Space - A Space Engineers Speed Run

Speed Run Rules:
1) No settings changes, except for:
a) Unknown Signals: Off
b) Weather: Off
c) NEW Random Encounters: Off
2) Earthlike start
a) Solar System
b) Earth drop pod
3) Must be able to survive and "start" in space
a) Intact survival kit
b) Intact O2/H2 gen OR O2 and H2 tanks (with bottles; connected to Survival Kit if no bottles)
c) Intact battery
4) Play it straight
a) No clang drives
b) Can't use jetpack to get all the way to space
c) No mods (less subjective than saying "nothing that affects gameplay")
d) No plugins

Honestly just me and one other guy, but this is possibly the best variation of a speedrun that I could come up with. I'm still looking into speedrunning Lost Colony (stupid promise on the first speedrun video...), but that thing is just... not meant to be speedrun. The research alone is taking a while, and I'm not sure if all the required components can be looted or at least produced from ingots, or if it's just faster to build a refinery and make them. Another speedrun I saw was for Earth to Mars. Kinda interesting how they did it, though I think I could make a few improvements.

I would want to change the definition of this speedrun i would want to say you need to get a functioning survival kit to space (0% P gravity) cause you couldve gotten to space faster using your jet pack cause your jetpack goes 110

Check the description, rule 3. Not only do you need to get the survival kit to space, but also the O2/H2 generator and battery. You need to be able to survive in space, which I put in there specifically to cover "Jetpack Man". I also explicitly ban that maneuver under 4a since it's theoretically possible to find an encounter with the bare essentials on-board inside the gravity well.

when you started spinning I had to scroll down not to puke :) but I have to give this a try. To create a base: run starts as soon as you spawn and ends at 0.00 gravity? am I correct? and what are the other rules we have to adhere to ?

XD Sorry, that's really the only way to reliably stop with one thruster. All the rules are in the description, but they basically boil down to "play it straight". You are MORE than welcome to beat my time and encourage me to do another run. :) I measure the time using my video editor, but yes. When you spawn is 0:00.00, the frame when P gravity goes to 0 is your time.

@@serdaraytemiz9978 Much less so that most of the speed-ups have been found. :) The holy grail at the moment, though, is getting to space without mining the ice. Honestly, if you can pull that off, you'll easily beat my time by... maybe a minute or two.

@@serdaraytemiz9978 Nope, scripts are fine if you can make a programmable block and load it while in the game. That's actually a good idea. Just can't have a bot do it for you or run it behind the scenes.

Cutting the stuff of definitely worked I mean if you watch the bottom left you can see the weight of the ship go down.

What are the rules? Do you have to start on earth?

Sorry for the lag, been on vacation for the last week.. Detailed rules are in the description, line by line, but yes, it needs to be from Earthlike, not somewhere with higher atmospheric thickness (like Alien) or lower gravity (like Mars) or a smaller gravity well (like Pertam). Triton is *not* equivalent, despite the identical profiles in most of those categories, specifically because you are never far from ice. That is not the case on Earthlike, where you can be a *significant* distance from ice.
