Hello Noah, thx for putting some lights on the DL Speedrun community ! ive watched this video and in this comment i will answer some of the questions you were asking yourself :) 2:28 : What is that slide movement ? we do that by holding the run button, forward and spamming crouch, we do that because the dagger in his hand ( Kuai dagger ) is a special weapon that gives you a speed boost everytime you do a parkour move, the boost stacks up to 10 ( you can see it next to the health bar ) 12:50 : What is he waiting for ? We wait for a dialogue to start so that when it begins we skip it by talking to jasir and starting a 2nd dialogue 21:59 : Why is his screen so orange now ? it's because he just drank a cloak potion, this potion makes that zombies can't see you for a certain ammount of time 30:40 : Yeah, what do you have to wait for ? during this part we have to wait for a dialogue that starts when you leave atilla's house, you need to be far enough from it and wait 3 real minutes if anyone have other questions don't hesitate to ask :)

Noah, each time he does any parkour moves (climbing or jumping gaps on foot, sliding) with that blade out he gains speed (until the timer runs down, then his speed stacks slowly decrease unless he does more climbing, slidingand gap jumps) You can get that weapon in the base game by completing about like 5 running challenges. That blade is a speed runners love pretty much

I remember playing this with a cousin and we were doing the antennae mission specifically the part we’re you jump off and land in the large garbage pile and Kyle goes “one of these days I’m going to land on a bag of rusty knifes” and right as he finished saying that my cousin landed on the bags but the game glitched and he got downed and all I hear is him say “well I landed on a bag of rusty knifes” I couldn’t stop laughing after that😂

So the weird sliding trick, is because of the little dagger he’s holding for a weapon. It makes you move faster, and the more parkour you do in a row the faster you go! Ten additional speed levels. Sliding counts as parkour, so he does it ten times to get the speed maxed and then keeps sliding so it doesn’t run out. I’m pretty sure the devs added that weapon specifically for speed running because it wasn’t originally in the game.

You should check out the Devil May Cry speedruns. DMC speedruns are unique in that there aren't many skips that aren't built in and some of the exploits become official mechanics in later games. A lot of it is dependant on simply being good at the game.
