Three time slackline world champion Jaan Roose is attempting to set a new world record for the longest slackline. To do this he will walk across a 3.6 kilometre line suspended above the Messina Straits between mainland Italy and Sicily, exposed to the heat and changeable winds at the heights of over 200 metres above the sea.

for anyone wondering, no he didn't break the record for the longest highline. For that he needs to walk start to end without falling. He did however break the record for longest distance walked continuously without falling since he only fell after walking past the previous highline record

“In May, Paulin beat the world record for the longest highline, completing a 2,200-meter-long (nearly 1.4-mile) trek at Mont-Saint-Michel, a UNESCO world heritage site in France.” 1.4 miles is shorter than ~2.2 miles
@asdf-y2c
@asdf-y2c 15 күн бұрын
@@Holden-uf7 exactly what i mean. In the slaklining community the world record for a highline means that you need to walk the whole line without falling. If you fall then we dont count it as the record for the longest highline. The record he did beat is a different one, walking for the longest distance without falling, but he didnt complete the whole line
