I don't know about to the max but stiffening it a bit would definitely help getting some recoil as it leaves the ramp could help as well and not bottoming out as Jody pointed out I'd try different spring load and see what works best ✌️

The Height data is directly measured on the GPS device and it just sends it to the phone (like a message), the app does just read this "Message" and displays it. So the data won't be different in iPhone or Android, because it just "reads out" the "Message" send by the GPS

Apparently the world record is 131 foot high, it was done by team associated in 2019, but Kevin's jump is extremely impressive

You're mistaken. That's a long jump, not a high jump. Richard Saxton jumped 131 ft distance not high. There is no official high jump record other than an unofficial 41 ft jump which they already beat in this video. For an RC car to go 131 ft high it would be almost impossible at this time without wings. Also, the long jump by team Associated has been beat by Kevin Talbot. 60 meters 196 ft. So yes Kevin's attempts are beyond impressive.

the best way is your going to have to build a board back drop with gauge lines and then place a camera on it so you can film the jumps as they pass the board and then watch the jumps in slo-mo and still frame. think a board like the strength test things at fairs where you hit a spot with a hammer and try to ring a bell with a weight, put a couple of cameras at different heights so you cover the entire board and film each jump

@@KevinTalbotTV I don't know how he measured it & yes I mentioned to Dave (HardcoreRC) I thought the gps wasn't accurate for heights when I used it I would get inconsistent results. I think I'm going to do some tests & post my findings. 🙂 going to a multistorey car park & walking up each floor & film the gps. It should give the same value for each floor (ie 1st floor for example 15ft & 2nd floor 30ft & 3rd 45ft etc) It should be repeatable.

Kev, maybe something that might work on "overpowered" RC cars for stable high speed runs, put fishwire over the front tires. That way, when you go higher speeds, the rear end of the car will lift up & you will create proportional downforce as to the speed you're going. I'm not a proffesional, it's just an idea? :p

You need to stiffen your suspension up so you dont bottom out on the jump. That should give you a big increase in height and you should get some pop from the rebound. Great video.
