40'42 on that hilly course is incredible. This is the smoothest I've seen him look. If you look at his other races you can tell when he's running at his limit. This wasn't that at all. Need him to take back his half marathon WR 🔥

Very smooth strides, just incredible to watch this solo race at 4’22”/mile. It’s a crazy performance, I can measure it. I was a runner with borderline sub 15 on 5k and sub 30 10 k roads and track by only 10-15 seconds and only ran few 1 mile track races with a pr of 4’03”. I’m blown away!

I genuinely didn't know what event was being run until 1:37 in to the video. I'd guessed it was either a 5k, 10k or 15k race but didn't know until this point because it was never mentioned. I get the video was probably made fairly quickly but it'd be nice to know what record was actually broken lol.

Running shoe technology has gone crazy over the last few years. He's wearing space ships on his feet for sneakers. Even my old fat out of shape self can feel the difference and see the difference in my pace wearing Zoom Fly running shoes vs traditional shoes like the Pegasus. Zoom Fly are no where near Nike's premier tech shoes any more. Lord know what an elite runner like Kiplimo gets out of custom fit Nike running shoes.

Really don't understand why his 40.27 15k split enroute to a half marathon WR does not count as the true 15k World record.
@BobNLDАй бұрын
Because rules state that for a WR to count you have to finish where you started. Otherwise, you could run a 15K downhill and claim your prize

The 15k mark would have to be certified as accurate and have an official timer there to document the split. Anything else is “unofficial” and the split could potentially be short.

Nice to see TRP finally acknowledging that the course ain't easy, after the previous zevenheuvelenloop video (previous WR) that kept naming that course very fast :D I wonder what could Kiplimo run over some other, even faster 15k course.
