Hey guys! I've been grinding this category for a while now, as it's been the last record I need to take back for Turok Remastered. Now, I'll give it a little rest until someone else takes it back (which I hope they will!)
100% in this game is defined by completing the totals screen before you land the final hit on the Campaigner. This means having every key in your inventory as well as the Chronoscepter assembled. Load warping is allowed but not as useful because of this.
I'm changing my mentality a lot on how I do things in speedrunning and I think it's paying off. I'm trying to reset less even with bad luck in the runs, so I can continue playing the game.

I had this on the n64 when I was 11 or 12, and I found it so cryptic and complicated. It really made me feel strange when I played it. It's hard to explain.

I had a very similar feeling. Probably because of the hard level design. It was so hard to connect what the switches actually did. The Violence and gore, occultic feeling etc.

Turok used to make me feel so insanely... weird. Unlike any other game to date, and i've played so many thousands. I think it was the blurry textures and overall blurry N64 image, the weirdly smooth movement, claustrophobic FOV, layers of mist/clouds everywhere on those surreal maze-like levels, and importantly that severe fog. Like you're moving into an empty void. It felt like it's all trying to confuse your brain while the music starts off sounding calm, but then it later turns to dread. It all goes together in such an atmospheric and strange way. It even gave me a headache and made my head feel really hot if i played for over an hour or two... Literally nothing else has done anything similar to me. Ever. Including drugs. But Turok on N64 was almost like a visual drug. The feeling can't be described. Now all these years later i've just finished this remastered version on PC in 4K, so the clarity is obviously vastly superior, the FOV is higher, mist is reduced and the view distance fog is much further away. This makes it lose most of that really strange feeling (and makes the game far easier).

The run's impressive! I like playing Turok and just found your speedrun! I've always seen Turok as this perfect classic FPS, but with your video I've learned that there are a few sweet glitches! It's very fun to watch you rush through the game with ease!

I'd just like to say thanks for uploading all of these. Though the point is that they're WR runs, I'm just watching all uploaded Turok runs because they're like Stream-highlights / streams. PS: I'm obviously a massive Turok fan, but Seeds of Evil will always be at the very top, it's the best Turok and y'all know i'm right!

Btw in the catacombs level in the start at the stairs if you click jump at the begging of the stairs and hold it you will like fly towards bottom which is so fast

Hey, thanks for watching! The ceiling glide wasn't a thing in the patch this run plays on, unfortunately. Sadly the patch that does have it took out some other tech that was used in the run when this was recorded.

Good run, but how did you get the first Chronoscepter piece?

On any patch lower than the current one on Steam, the first Chronoscepter piece is obtained when grabbing the first key in the level. The game will register you having it, even if you've never picked it up. It's weird.

T1 was soo fast compared to t3. They totally made t3 move like a snail and the fps was just terrible. I mean tbh t2 had amazing combat but t1 is the better platformer. This reminds me of the quake games. Quake was so fast and by q4 it was slowed way down. Seems like the trend with fps games. Remember painkiller? That game was so fast lol. The remaster is a bit clunky in some aspects, the flag for picking up the first Chronoscepter piece gets triggered upon getting the first key in the first level for some reason, so we don't have to get that one.

Only in a previous patch! It has since been patched, and runs nowadays are done on later patches due to other tricks found.

How did you cheat on this? Turok could never move so fast as you do. Clipping through walls, jumping like warlocks in Destiny, What a joke..

He didn't cheat it's called strafe running and glitching the game

And for the jumps as long as you hold forward tal'set keeps moving forward even while airborne

No its the NightDive remaster on PC but the game is also on Switch. It's an amazing remaster and for superior to the N64 original.
