I would not begin my interview saying Mr. Pepin spent his whole life “playing with food. “ But then, I’m from the old school of journalism- be professional, choose your words carefully, show respect for your subject .

IN MY VIEW Jacques Pepin is a humble man. He is a Master in his trade of cooking but has never been prideful or arrogant. I believe it’s because he simply Loves Cooking Food more than he does people admiring his cooking.

see that book he's hawking on this show, when that book came out in 1975 it BLEW EVERYONE IN AMERICAS MIND and if you get right down to it the food sophistication we have in america today is due to HIM, just HIM THATS IT , OVER AND OUT

These damn ppl who interview Mr, Pepin and then spend so much time interrupting him drive me up a wall. SHUT UP and be polite. He is a great story teller and conversationalist. They are just so rude.

I thought the same thing - Check out @ 5:10 - She clearly interrupts what he's saying - his sentence regarding food restrictions is cut off by her - See how his face changes - horrible interviewer.....

im not sure I don't know, I just mean the most popular well known and talented knowledgeable. I do think its Gordon. sure, his over the top yelling originally was himself but later he was doing it for show, but his culinary skills and his broad knowledge is unmatched

Gordons knowledge comes from people that research for him. I personally think he is an ass like a lot of the chefs i have worked with, but that may only be tv stuff. Still he would not be here if not for Jacques.

“Do you remember... make a career out of this...” Rather stupid. Shows she did not do any research. Shows her lack of understanding of history. Amateur talking to a professional

i like Jacques, but strictly speaking hi isn't a showman. has no charisma, personality or camera presence. probably why he doesn't appear on FOod tv.

His skills and Techniques speak for themselves. He doesn't need to be a showman.

There is nobody i would rather watch than him, the most humble chef you would ever meet and there would not be the chefs of today with out him. I have cooked most my life although since i was 30 ish i only did it for fun but still i hardly watch the cooking channel now. So much flash and bang and pomp and such... no thank you

That's his charisma. The fact that he doesn't put off a show for the eyeballs and gets right into the business with his techniques and insights in between, and not to forget a few one liners. That's the part of his charisma and camera presence that is welcoming, warm and makes you feel at ease.
