Welcome back to the Cook Islands for episode 3 of 7 in this travel series. In this vlog we finally get to see what all the Aitutaki chat has been about, checking out the real highlight and top thing to do in Aitutaki, a lagoon tour into the turquoise waters. www.bishopscrui...
Despite visiting the Cook Islands a few times we’ve always been told ‘unless you go to Aitutaki you really haven’t seen the Cook Islands’ - and after our time there, we can kinda see why people say it! Aitutaki is only small, but really shows how beautifully integrated the tourism and travel scene is with a local, traditional, Polynesian culture (which we’ll show more in the next vlog). But more than anything, its all about this lagoon and taking a lagoon tour to reach the outer motu’s and really see the beauty!
It’s easy to understand why Aitutaki is known as the ultimate honeymoon destination! Stay tuned, we've got 4 more Cook Islands vlogs to come as we make our way back to Rarotonga as well.

Your videos are very informative - thank you.We are heading to Aitutaki in April 2023 and getting married on One Foot Island. Staying at Tai Roto Bay Villas for 5 nights, then 5 nights at Manuia Beach Resort Rarotonga. Your videos have given us some really great tips on where to go and what to do while we're there. We got engaged in 2019 at Intercontinental Bora Bora & Thalasso Spa resort in Bora Bora - so Aitutaki has massive shoes to fill!!

I went out with Teking last week and can honestly say, his trip is the best by far and i have done them all.But, any trip on Aitutaki lagoon is magic!

It's funny how despite the heavy cloud, you can still see the turquoise waters easily. I visited the Isle of Harris in 2020 and it was thick grey clouds like it was for you guys in this video (albeit it a lot colder) and similarly, you could see the turquoise waters easily - I would never have expected it. The plane history was fascinating - I'd have reacted in the same way as you Dane! Very jealous over the passport stamps and I love the foot shape of that one. As a UK passport holder, it's so frustrating how few stamps we get as countries in the EU wont stamp them... and some others too. The disappointment when Switzerland wouldn't stamp! I personally voted to remain in the EU for the Brexit vote, and when the majority vote was to leave, I told myself to find some silver linings, and one of them was more passport stamps from EU countries. Turns out we still don't get them!!! 🤦‍♀️🤣 Stace, I loved your comment about being stranded on a desert island. This video was just a smidgen different to Kara and Nate's from a few weeks ago 😉 This was such a good video - nice work guys! ❤️

Isnt that amazing! It does make you wonder what it looks like on a sunny day if that's how good it looks under the clouds! Oh noooo are you kidding,, we love passport stamps too. There's something so satisfying about flipping through the pages and pages and reminiscing on where you've been. I love watching Survivor but there's no way I'd survive if I ever tried it 😂 Oh we haven't seen that one, will have to check it out!

Aww thanks guys, you gave me a nostalgic buzz mentioning the flying boats (Teal Solvents). I’ve heard many a story about how the aircrew were treated like celebrities wherever they flew. My dad flew the first flying boat into NZ for Teal (which later became Air NZ). It’s almost the 2nd anniversary of his passing so that felt like a little wink from dad. 🥰

You should watch our first video - shows the process of flying to Raro from NZ then on to Aitutaki 😊 We recommend going on the Cook Islands website and filtering your accommodation based on what's important to you. No issues for us while we were there thankfully.

So special! He's doing well thanks for asking. Lots of training, time at puppy preschool, socialising with other dogs and humans and been on lots of rides in the car to see the big wide world. Lots of biting and a little separation anxiety but we're slowly making progress. How is little Yuki doing? Hope you guys are well ❤️

Akaiami is a gorgous little island and it actually have several accomendations. One of them you can find if you search Ginas Garden. Tutai Manarangi, the Queen (tradiotional leader) of Aitutaki was raised on Akaiami and her father was filling the airplanes. One foot island has 2 stories, one of which you have heard about a fathers love for his son. The other is simply because the motu looks like a foot from above in its shape. You choose.

We visited Aitutaki in 1990. One foot island had a shack and nothing else. We had to hire a local with an outboard motor boat to get there and had a bag lunch. He told us that if we wanted, he could let us stay on the island overnight and pick us up the next day. We should have... sigh. The stars at night, OMG.

Beautiful place! Be careful with the special passport stamps. NZ probably isn't as picky as the US... but there has been an issue with people being denied entry to countries for having non-official immigration stamps in their passports. I've heard of it especially with the Machu Picchu stamp for some reason. I hadn't heard of it until recently.
