@@AlexanderAyling Just watched Episode 2. Sorry that your Dad had to cut the ride short. I agree that the ride into Gateway was spectacular! Can't wait to see the last two days of the ride. The only concession to my age was to arrange a ride from Gateway to the Colorado/Utah boundary. I was cautioned about the difficulty of the ride up the pass. I'm sure you'll comment on it in Episode 3. BTW, all the other riders with me were on full-suspension bikes. I rode my Why Cycles Supple Seven hardtail with 26.5 x 3" tires. Very stable!

I guarantee there is a hut system in Bavaria. Also Germany is great for bike touring on back roads. Get out there! Black Forest??

Get started with something like the Rheinsteig, along the River Lahn or maybe Pilgerpath.

Hi I’d like to know if these little huts are for free or you paid to someone before you got there?

Hey Michael! We saw some people camping out there but it was pretty solitary to be honest. Very welcomed change of pace. Hope all is well. Where you tuning in from?

@@AlexanderAyling Riding out the pandemic in Baltimore County! Close to the PA line, but not too far from the city that I can't get some crab cakes when I have an urge. The city definitely has issues, but the places I frequent don't feel unsafe at all to me. Telluride and that part of Colorado has been on my bucket list for awhile. My work situation is going to be a lot more flexible later this year, so hopefully I can swing by for a week or two. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
