Ms. Mattie another suggestion. You can put lemon juice over your bananas to keep them from turning brown, then damp some of the lemon off the bananas slices.

Use the egg shell themselves to separate the yolk from the white or your fingers. I've never made my pudding without flour. Thank you for sharing options.

I like the recipe but at lease two thing I remember my granny adding to her meringue was cream of tartar and sugar.but everything else looked just about like her and yes she did added flour or cornstarch to her filling for thicken but I like that place you omitted for thickening because as you stated the cookie will give it a nice thickness. ❤

Mrs Mattie I should've just came to your video and watched before I tried making this dish I researched for a week came a cross a southern homemade banana pudding recipe on Google and I made 3 everything came out perfect and pretty and the taste was there, just for my pudding to be runny even when put in refrigerator over night it's still RUNNY LIKE NO TOMORROW, my son will probably eat his but I can't give this banana pudding soup to my client. Fyi...when mixing the hot ingredients on top of stuff, it would have help to add flour to the pudding. Would have made it thicker. Also I use a little bananas extract with the vanilla extract

Thanks for the video I made the banana pudding and it came out perfect 👍🏽 It got a little thick but I stirred in some milk a little at a time got it where it supposed to be with the coating on the spoon.
