Glad you liked the results! In addition, the Wise Guys tire cleaner is safe on your wheels and paint... so no need to worry about overspray! ..But they do recommend washing it off before it dry's.

Here's a tip which I've yet to see anyone do. Get (4) 1' pieces of 2x4 or 2x6 and put them under (behind) your tires, slightly toward the inside of the tire. Back your car up onto them so that your tires have a 1.5" gap under them. Then you can wash all the way around the tire and you don't wind up with the little flat spot at the bottom that never gets scrubbed or treated with tire shine. Or if you have the time - just take off each wheel and do it the right way. :)

I actually just roll the truck back a few feet after my initial cleaning, then clean that portion that I couldn't reach. That 2x4 idea is pretty clever though!

It's been a good product. I started off with the small bottle just to test it out, now I buy the big bottle because I like it so much. It works for many things, not just tires. I use it on plastic trim pieces inside and outside of my vehicles as well. I dilute it using tap water, you can choose the dilution ratio based on the product recommendations.

I do most of the same stuff, maybe not the same cleaner’s but the same thing except Most of the time I take the wheels off to clean because I also wax the inside of the wheel. But at the very least I jack up the vehicle to be able to spin the wheel. Otherwise you don’t get the bottom of the tire and between the brake calipers and wheels
@studio_tron2 жыл бұрын
I do take the tires off from time to time to wax them as well. On a maintenance clean like this: I clean as the video shows, then roll the truck back a few feet to get the section of tire I couldn't reach. I like the way you think though, very thorough. Keep up the good work!

Do you notice that the tire shine causes rot? Sidewall cracks? I just got some new tires always used shine but I just need an opinion
@studio_tron2 жыл бұрын
I can't positively confirm that the tire shine products will cause any damage. What I can confirm is that this method will clean out the pores of the tire rubber very well and then hydrate and seal the tire (in theory this will help prevent rot). I have used tire shine products in the past but was never satisfied with the final result. If you like the shiny tire look, I would still recommend cleaning your tire first with the "shine supply wise guys" before applying your tire shine product. You will be amazed on how much dirt and grime come off your tires even if they don't look that dirty.
@DMG18T2 жыл бұрын
@@studio_tron Gotcha. Yeah. I never actually really spent time like you’ve done with your tires. Rims I wash with a long pole brush. One for car one for rims/tires. I think last year I went overboard with the shine. ESP using it in cold months. I got it not just on the sidewalls but sometimes on the start of the outside treads. I love the look. Felt always if I didn’t use some kind of tire shine that it always looked incomplete. So your saying use that wise guys stuff? I’m thinking of buying a small pressure washer to help with washes, maybe that can help with the tires too. Because they look clean but brown comes off. Dirt. Also I gotta get in the gear to let tires completely dry or dry 8/10 before putting shine on.
@studio_tron2 жыл бұрын
@@DMG18T Yup, I'd definitely recommend the Wise Guys by Shine Supply for your cleaning (I am not sponsored by any of the products in my video either, I personally purchase and use them). It will really give your tire shine product the best results. Also, as you have mentioned, be sure to let your tires dry before you apply your shine. Please come back and post your results here... I would love to hear back from ya after you give it a whirl.

07/4 22 Spoke with a valeter at a well known Car Hire Co at an airport pick up point who was using Scotchguard shoe spray on alloy wheels & the tyres. (He stuffed rags over the exposed brake discs.) He reckoned it minimised wheel cleaning for him keeping brake dust off wheels too. He finished the tyres with some Turkish CLEAR shoe polish which he also buffed plastic trim with too. I then covered 1000 km with heavy mountainous braking - & muddy & later dusty un-adopted surfaces -it did seem to keep the wheels free of grime. His kit also contained furniture polish, windolene, washing up liquid, white spirit, toothpaste & pairs of microfibre gloves. His ideal routine was to throughly car wash at the end of the day & finally bull & buff wth the next mornings soft dew & early sunlight.
@wiciuwiciu2783 Жыл бұрын
In fact, using regular home products gives splendid effects. Brake cleaner? Just use WD-40. It's almost the same. Shoe shine works as You described. Carpet powder is great for floor mats. Dirty mufflers? Stove cleaner is designed to dissolve the same type of contaminations. Just give it a little polsih with cleaning milk (the one to clean taps, sinks and generally bathrooms)

@@aaronlee9660 I would suggest following the guidelines demonstrated in this video. Make sure you use a quality car wash detergent/ snow foam. After your wheels are clean and dry, add a coat of wax let it haze over and buff it off. I like Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax for the entire vehicle including the wheels, but any car wax will work. You can wax your wheels every time you clean them if you'd like. If you ever start to see a wax build up, you can use "Clean Slate by Chemical Guys" that will safely strip off the wax so you can start with a "clean slate."
