A large portion of food sensitivities/allergies are related to gut health. Introducing probiotics when they are babies can seriously help! Also one of the reasons a lot of people are allergic to peanuts is because peanuts commonly contain mold and mycotoxins. Shellfish also often contains toxins. Even chocolate is known to contain mycotoxins and some people are more sensitive to these. Things like genes (MTHFR) can be related. Infant Probiotics can also reduce “reflux”. Most food allergies/sensitivities have to do with leaky gut. I highly recommend doing some research on it!

Speaking with spoonful one is so powerful, as a kindergarten teacher I see so many families with children with allergies and isn’t it crazy how in the past allergies were few and far between! It’s so important to not avoid foods until or unless there is a known allergy! Thanks for sharing guys definitely some information I can take away and use in my classroom 😊

I really enjoyed this vlog! Hearing about the food allergies was my favorite part. My son had a major allergy attack when he was 3 months from formula (i wasnt producing enough to go out on a date). So we tried it, and within 10 mins, my son had hives head to toe. I rushed him to the ER and they gave him 2 epi shots. Very scary moment. After all that, he had an allergy test done and found out hes allergic to Dairy, Eggs, All nuts, Beef, and Shell Fish. Its not easy having a kid with allergies. Lots of learning what ingredients are what. Had to avoid all those things when I was breast feeding. Hes now 8 and still has all the allergies. But thank you for taking a moment to share that talk with us.

Omg! I’ve been watching your whole journey since last year. I found you bc i was pregnant & got addicted to your videos. I was actually pregnant the same time you were when you were pregnant with your first miscarriage. You have no idea how much i cried when i found out you had a miscarriage 😭 i gave birth to my son 4 months ago. & i had paused from your videos. & found out again you had another miscarriage. & it was depressing for me. But 3rd times a charm. Finding out you’re pregnant made me soo happy. You have no idea. I love you & your family. You inspire me so much.

csisler0427 My son has a epipen for a peanut allergy. Both him and I are gluten intolerant and him and his dad are dairy intolerant. It is really hard. Especially the social part of it. All throughout elementary school he was only invited to one birthday party. He was teased so much about having to wear a pouch that I pulled him out of middle school and home schooled him for 3 years. He's graduating this year thank god!

I'm sure this is considered "old school" thinking by now (lol) but my son has a peanut allergy and had a brief strawberry allergy as an infant. I would much rather introduce foods one at a time, with just a couple days between so I can pinpoint the cause of a rash or whatever. That's what our pediatricians and allergist recommended and put my mind at ease with our second and will definitely continue doing with our 3rd once he starts solids. It's also important while breastfeeding to keep track of what "unusual" foods you consume - that was one of the problems we faced. Just an extra opinion! :)

That is so interesting about introducing high food allergen foods. I was alway on the understanding that you introduce a food slowly and for three or four days and then introduce a new food. Things have sure changed since I started food with my babies. They are now almost 3 and 8 years old!.

I introduced all foods to my kids early and my middle daughter still has a peanut allergy 🙁 I was devastated. There is no history anywhere on both sides of the family with any food allergies so it's just so frustrating!! I went to see a few different Dr's about it and 2/3 of them told me that in fact introducing certain foods can be harmful and cause kids to develop allergies. They both said there isn't enough research or evidence to back that theory up. I don't know what is right or wrong and every time I see my daughters epi-pen in my purse, I wonder if there was something I could have done differently.
@MissPrincessinblue6 жыл бұрын
Jessica Laliberte I had no food allergens until I was almost in my twenties. Lactose in milk, peanuts, avocado, tomatoes, peaches..etc so I'm not sure how they think this would work. I've heard it's an excessive amount of a certain food can make you have an allergy. But I had a plum tree and pear tree growing up. Ate so much that i should have an allergy but I don't. So *shrug* it's not an exact science.
@smjchiang6 жыл бұрын
Jessica Laliberte you did nothing wrong or could of done anything different. My son is allergic to tree nuts and mango, and there is no family history of it she might grow out of it so you are doing good.
@beepee316 жыл бұрын
Yes you did nothing wrong. The science is changing all the time. They can only make a guess at what causes the allergy by studying hundreds of babies and then it is only a guess. "These babies did this and they were ok so maybe that's what we recommend." A few years later a new study comes out saying waiting hasn't helped any babies and the rates are the same or worse! That's why doctors say different things, they are looking at different evidence and trying their best to give the best advice
@beepee316 жыл бұрын
This area of medicine and Nutrition in general is one of the most frustrating areas to research because there are also lots of badly designed studies and conflicting advice so you did the best a mama can do and fed your babies. I'm guessing it was nothing you did and the allergy would have happened regardless
@annikamartin85996 жыл бұрын
Jessica Laliberte You didn't do anything wrong. I've had food allergies all my life (I'm only thirteen but still). I've never had a day that I could eat anything I wanted without thinking about what's in it and reading the labels. I go to a Naturopath. I've been told that every seven years your allergies may dramatically change. Years ago, my Naturopath told me that by the time I turned fourteen, I may not have any allergies. My birthday is in less than a month so this time the prediction was wrong.
