My favorite is the back drivers side caliper that has the bleeder on the bottom. Folks that made it past 800,000 engineers and they still put the brake bleeder on the bottom of the caliper. I had to take the caliper off take the old rotor and turn the caliper upside down to bleed. And that folks is the only thing I don’t like about my gen 3 6.7

I bought a 3rd gen 6.7 in the dark. Both rear fenders on the bed were rusted, 5” exhaust hanging not even attached to the turbo. And yes when I pressure washed the bed the huge slab of bondo and pains just fell off.😮 shit my wife is gonna kill me haha. Anyways 300k miles and she has the perfect rust patina. And it makes it a whole of a lot easier to hood stack a truck when it’s rusty for sure. Also I like the sleeper look cops totally leave me alone until she sounds like a train and the smoke blowing up fills the entire 4 lanes of traffic haha

I just dumped a ton of money on brakes for my 06. 4 calipers, 4 Rotors, Wagner SD Pads New Parking brake kit Rear Dust Covers And rear axle seals because you can't replace the freaking dust covers without pulling the rear axle shafts. I had some pinching on the front hoses too but was lucky enough to bend the metal tab open and free everything up. If you end up getting a parking brake kit, really inspect the dust shields because their design allows for rust to build up between where the metal sandwiches together and when the rust swells up, it pushes the top of the shield into the parking brake pads and jams everything up. Dealerships in my region say that if you are replacing parking brakes on the 3rd gens, to just get the parking brake kits, dust covers and hub seals because chances are you're going to need them. *edit* Oh ya, and set the parking brake adjust as when you put the Rotor for drivers side. The adjuster hole is the most useless piece of trash to try and use. Like no room to actually adjust the cog.

Cant go wrong with a 96-98 2nd gen 12v. Forget the Allison a built 47RE/48RE will take anything you throw at it. If you have more budget, the 03-06 trucks are nice.

Hey Greg for brake pads on my 91. Five Dodge I use a Kevlar pads I get them through EGR and they work really nice there in there really nice to the rotors too anyway six in a row jim from tender Del Pennsylvania hey by the way on the bed of the truck it’s not that bad as shape why don’ Try selling that it’s not that bad of shade minimum work it could be you know a player for sure not a showpiece but hey I’ll tell you what up in Pennsylvania there’s guys that probably give their IT for that all right have a good day
