Liam, the golf industry must hate you! 😂 Your channel is a real blessing for regular golfers. I don’t see buying much anymore. I will only look to replace my 4 iron with something easier to hit. There is nothing wrong with my clubs if I’m being totally honest. I will only buy cheap golf balls. Cut Golf sells balls for $9.95 a dozen. Thanks for keeping it honest and real. You are indeed the People’s Golfer.

A great demonstration Liam on cheap v premium ball. You can chip and run a cheaper ball up to hole all day long, but if you can make it stop with spin at the hole side you need a premium ball. Its all about what you want with a ball hard or soft feel, I have changed from Pro V 1 to Wilson Staff soft spin a while back and like the feel of them. You have proved that you can still score well with cheap balls, Someone else might have suggested that you should test the Bomb in summer conditions and so did I thanks.
@baysideangler97096 жыл бұрын
Liam-loved UR poll. My correct answer is that I play expensive balls THAT I FIND! I’m about 1-2 more stroke handicap than U but play a very challenging course where the average player loses 6-12 balls/round. When the thick grass goes dormant, there are LOTS to find, thus I’m selective as I can be. Best part is they COST $0. Great work, please keep it up

I think the ball that saves me the most strokes are the high vis ones to be honest. I don't often play at super nice courses, and I'm not a great golfer. Sometimes the grass is long enough to lose a ball while it's still technically in play. I end up with lower rounds just by not taking lost ball penalties. My personal favourite are Maxfli Softfli in the high vis green.

I've tested like that. Played 2 balls, high end and low end, and ended up 1-2 strokes different between the two. To most of us, it really doesn't matter what ball we truly play. I choose a ball per feel👍 Love this kind of stuff keep do'n what your do'n

Liam, great fun. I play Srixon zstars ( for the most part free to me ), chromesofts, provi, x. Premium balls all. Was playing last week here in Arizona and pulled a found WS Duo out of my bag and proceeded to hit a series of drives at least 15 yards longer than the zstar I had been playing that day. Maybe better swings and strikes with the Duo but there definitely was a big difference and I didn't notice any downside in chipping and putting. So a couple of things-confidence with the Duo, better swings and strikes, premium balls over rated by us silly boys. I am a 6 handicap and still get around pretty good for a geezer (69). Maybe golfballs are like women-doesn't matter so much as long as it is different. Cheers.

Great test Liam. I think it's the same with a lot of golf equipment, unless your a pro, it doesn't really matter what you play with. I'm certainly not going out buying a 500 quid driver with my handicap, I'll buy one that's a couple of years old, it'll perform just as well for me. I currently play with any softer ball on offer at my local sports shop!! I really think it's only when your playing golf for a living that it will make any difference, and those guys have everything supplied for them anyway!

I have played the Titleist NXT tour for many years. Find it a great all round ball. I buy them near mint, second hand online, and for the price they a magnificent balls. Good feel, durability, plenty of stopping cred , etc etc. Previous to these I was a fan of the Srixon AD 333, they were a great ball as well, but I can honestly say from my observation, they tended to always give that extra HOP before checking up properly, and lets be honest who wouldnt prefer every put to be 2 or 3 feet closer?. Any how me old China, just thought i would slip my 2 bobs worth in. Cheers to all the Golf Mates from Queensland , Australia.

Very much with you that the average player won't notice much difference in scores. I am cat 1 and I don't notice a lot of difference but there are certain shots where you need to stop the ball quickly where I know the premium ball will help and I do think you get a bit more 'feel' off them.

Hi Liam, I just saw these new Callaway Supersoft Magna balls at the store this weekend. Meant to be for some of us higher handicappers. As a result, I don't expect they'll get much real testing as everyone seems to be looking for that extra yardage, but you seem to like debunking golf equipment propaganda. I'd be happy if I was just making solid contact more often, I'm curious to know if they're actually easier to hit being slightly larger. Would you consider trying them out for us?

Callaway super soft also feels great off the putter Tp5’s launch higher Chrome soft feels heavy with driver and comes off the putter faster I can definitely feel a difference between balls and have seen some performance differences, in winter I care less 7 handicap by the way

Firstly, another cracking video Liam, bit of an eye opener to say the least. My perception of it comes down to sound and feel and do they get mixed up Or is it both? I find the cheaper golf balls make a clicking sound and the mid-high range balls make more of a thud on shorter shots and putting. Do those sounds transmit into a feel of hard and soft? 🤔

If you play with rock hard ball you will over time develop medial epicondylitis (golfers elbow) i have it both elbows along with lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) in my left arm, the later from field hockey, when i switched to soft balls e.g pro v, z-star etc the pain went away (almost) though you could play a srixon soft feel or AD333 (slightly more popular in the U.K i believe). Anyway that's my 2 cents (though they are out of circulation here in Australia )
