It's funny to me how many older people there are in the comments, when pretty much everywhere on KZbin is riddled with kids. It's nice to see people still trying to find a new talent later in their lives.

First off, THANK YOU DAN! My Dear Ol' Dad had a harmonica in his pocket and played a 1953 martin 000-18 guitar. I never learned either of the two instruments. I lost my dad 12-05-19 to cancer. Here I sit with a 1953 martin guitar and a harmonica. I have never felt so compelled in my life to learn both. Been pluckin and have sore finger tips now and get discouraged. Got this harp in my pocket and was very happy to see a video of simple, basic instruction (YOURS). Maybe I can get a good grip on this lesson quicker than that martin. God Bless Ya Brother. Thanks again.

@@stevehill6994 hi, sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad to cancer some years back and he played the Euphonium! He was my best friend and when I think about him now it's always makes me smile. None of us (me or my two brothers) could hardly blow into it never mind get a noise from it!! Lol. I do play the guitar however, so.. The sore fingertips Will go away I promise! Stick with it.. With my grandfathers death my grandmother is moving out since she had wanted to do that well before his passing. We were clearing out his office and I found his harmonica, and remember he had given me one when I was younger (lost that of course cause I was a dumb kid) but we found his, a basic bluesband harmonica looks like yours. My grandmother let me keep it and I decided I'd try and learn it and your video has helped a lot so thanks!

I used to teach harp many years ago. My friend Steve Cash (harp player for Ozark Mountain Daredevils) once told me the earliest advice he got was to “keep the harp in your pocket. In other words just play. Second thing to learn is to figure out how to play single notes. That’s the hardest thing for beginners. Great video. Thx.

It's so weird and so neat....its HAPPY.... Well,I figured to help her understand the universal part of the beauty in a harmonica...she should see others playing! And we got this video... I'm happy with it...I can see and feel the love you have for the sounds you can produce with your harmonica...idk-but THANK YOU
