My husband... Where do I start. Being retired, he's been trying to find something to do to fill his hours of "him time". God save us all, he's found music. He's tried trumpet. That found it's way into the trash one day. He bought a violin that "fell behind a cabinet and is currently still "missing". Then he some friends gave him their Marlboro codes and he got a harmonica through the mail las week... I nearly drove it up his ass with my foot last week until I came across this tutorial. I sat him down in front of the laptop with that horrible noise maker of his. Well, it's a week later now. He's no maestro, but then again, his playing is far better than something that sounds like a cat with it's nuts in a vice, so thank you very much for the video! His playing sounds allot better and he continues to improve daily. Good job! :)

Teach the student just enough to get them feeling music and having some fun, without overwhelming them. Also, students now probably have on average much lower attention span vs 30 yrs ago, and this fits that very well. Looking forward to this adventure!

something that I noticed when I just opened my harmonica a day ago (a C one too), is that if I blow from 1-6 I'm gonna have a low note, and if I draw air I'll have a higher not, but is the opposite with the 7-10 (if I blow, is a high note, if I draw, it's a low note). Is there a technique to practice or memorize this in a easy way? I have zero technical knowledge regarding music, but I'm a self-learner and I always wanted to learn how to play harmonica

I recently came upon my Grandfather’s very old harmonica, I remember being mesmerized by him & this beautiful sound as a small child.. never thought I could actually play it, but watching this first video of yours, I’m already learning, while feeling so connected to my fave Gramps.. ThankYou!!

Sitting down and just trying to hit random little single notes is really really good practice I've come to find. I start slow then slowly speed up every so often.

I have zero interest in learning how to play the harmonica, BUT. I watched the entire video because this man is a perfect example of a natural born teacher. What a gift he is giving to musicians!

I just watched "Satan and Adam". Thank you. One of the biggest troubles in life, in my mind, is that one can never hear it all.... I am not terribly religious in the literal sense, but I suppose it feels like what I feel when I hear the music that moves me. Thank you for the insight and inspiration that you afforded us with the window that is the documentary. I was truly moved

A note for everyone who got a funky harmonica with two rows of holes: YOU HAVE A TREMOLO! It is not a diatonic! If you try to learn blues harmonica with well-circulated harp tabs on a tremolo, YOU WILL GET CONFUSED AND FRUSTRATED!

Thanks, A lot. It's a great way to bring such beautiful sound to us beginners. I've had mine forever. And it's going to sound silly but the worst thing and why I moved apart from the sound I love, and the feeling I got while playing with my harmonica, the worst thing was of how I placed my lips. And I blamed myself saying I lacked rhythm, lacked what it was needed. Even though I enjoyed the Blues so much, I left the awesomeness to the pros. Then I grew up, I mean I was 8 when my mom gave it to me, and guess what, for Christmas. I always enjoyed picking it up from whichever drawer it was in, recalling how it used to drive airport security nuts: "the boy, the boy! Get the kid, he's got something", damn right I had my Bluesband Hohner International with me, 'cause it was my precious. Even though I couldn't play it, in the hands (and lips) of pros, it made a heavenly sound that moved my soul. I just found it again! At 36 years of age I decided I couldn't leave it for later anymore. No more, I'm too busy, I don't have the time. I don't need others to tell me how good I make it sound, well maybe later if I'm not too old, but right now I only need to let myself remember how much I enjoyed it as a kid. And how good it feels to hear "her" again. Thanks again, guess I'll watch all your videos, but after I feel The Blues.

personally, I'm hoping this becomes a series that takes us from here to the ability to create our own "gussied up" version! As a newer player who can do single notes and can somewhat bend, I am glsd I found your channel. Thanks for thinking about us beginners!!!

Hey Brotha, With all these comments, I know you won't even see this... but I just have to say, I watched this video and went straight to the music store and bought a Horner Special 20 in C. Then I bought your lesson package... That was yesterday... I'm now on day 1 of your course and I can't believe I'm already making progress. This is such a gift and I'm so inspired. Thank you Brotha. I'm a veteran of 2 wars... this is medicine for the soul and I'm so grateful. You put this all together as a business because it's your passion. Now it's mine too... Keep rockin in the free world🤙
