If you love two stroke motorcycle drag racing you will love this video as we follow the mostly 2 stroke drag bike class, Super Eliminator at the Man Cup Finals from South Georgia Motorsports Park. All eyes are in Alex “Horsepower” Hughes and Bill Baxter as the men who hold the record for quickest naturally aspirated two stroke at 7.82 on their truck 72 Kawasaki H2 750 want to take at the overall two stroke record at 7.77, done with nitrous oxide. These guys want it on all motor! Will the weather be cooperative? We will also see a ton of cool two strokes, including the 72 H2 750 of Jeff Leffert, build by the legendary two stroke guru, Paul “Fast by” Gast. Leffert even has on Gast’s leathers. We flash back to the days when Gast and Dave Schultz were tearing up NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle on a two stroke H2 750 drag bike. We also see the amazing two stroke builds and setups of drag bike racers “Smokin” Joe Molyneux, David Boyd, Steve Chandler, Scott Allen, Mark Seeley and others. We show you some four strokes two with a Hayabusa of Perry Paugh, a ZX14r of Larry Zientek and the world’s quickest all motor ZX-14 of Rick Steinard, an experimental bike with a GS chassis. We also show you perhaps the most uncomfortable Kawasaki KZ of all-time and even find a rare Yamaha drag bike. Enjoy and share two stroke fans!

I bought my 1973 H2 750 new in the spring of 1973. Scary to ride, vibrates to put your fingers asleep, horrible handling but was exciting to ride. Traded it in next spring on the new Kawasaki Z1 900. That was one of the best bikes I ever had.

A friend of mine bought a Kaw 750 new and brought it over to my house to show it to me. Of coarse I asked if I could ride it, he sez sure you can. I threw my leg over the seat and took off down the street thinking it sounded like a healthy bumble bee, Wound.it out slid it into second gear and wound it out about as far as it would go. Nailed third gear the front end came straight up, scared the harley right out of me. I hung on and the front wheel finally came down, got it stoped and sat on the curb to catch my breath for a few in total disbelief how fast that bike was, saying wow, along with a bunch of explatives and trying to shake the harley out my pants leg. When I get back to my house my friend came running over and started checking out the bike, I asked him what was wrong and he said he heard me hit third and then it got quiet. I told him I had to stop and go back and get my heart, he gets on the bike calls me a pussy and leaves doing a wheelie. I never rode that bike again

I had both an H2 750 and a '75 Z-1 1170 in the late 70's through early 80's. One of my most distinctive memories about the H 2 was people in cars frantically rolling up their windows when I came up to them at a stop light. I didn't have expansion chambers, but the fiberglass in the mufflers was long gone, I tried replacing it with steel wool, which wasn't so good an idea. That made giant showers of sparks like 3 roman candles, until all the steel wool blew out!!!

I was a Kawi mechanic and practically every triple we sold we cut the baffles immediately plus I think we opened the air boxes also and played with the jetting...I remember every owner would come back immediately smiling ear to ear at the power gains just from that little massage. Wheelie time! LOL I wheelied EVERY single bike I uncrated or serviced or repaired down the alley behind Welty's Kawasaki in Los Angeles county. good times rolled ....pay sucked though

I was a Kawasaki mechanic early mid 70's rode and maintained a LOT of Kawitriples including H2 H1 and S3 I mean they were fun certainly not the end all at the time...Unlike Honda 750 and Z1 etc most of the triple owners flogged the hell out of em so I did not notice many people getting any big miles before engine work was needed...as I recall the H2 in particular was famous for crank seal issues and they were sort of a PIA to rebuild those cranks as they are of course all press fit so there are 6 segments held together with 5 pins? 4 main caged bearings 3 big end caged rod bearings and 4 seals...they liked to twist which caused leakage between the lower ends...some bizarre nasty scorched spark plug insulaters...I'm guessing they weld the cranks on these drag engines? The wonderful thing with these old two strokes is how fast you can change an entire top end out...so few parts...even yanking these motors and swapping crank shafts is so easy peasy compared to modern 4 stroke motors

I had a 75 triple. Years ago and had the operator from a race track interested in looking at mine. I found great ease a- ridin' the wheelie and rather frightening to look back on the dangerous possibilites. The best plugs, fuel mix, -daunting science. The operator of the stretched kwai ran Cox model engine fuel, obvious from the odor. His only competitor there on the Jackson dragstrip was a heavily trickedout eleven-hundred Honda, on at least a high octane racing gasoline.
