You can make a really nice ledge like the one in the video by using a cabinet (I found one at a closed down shop that was being renovated), a nice long, narrow sheet of high-density polyethylene (HDPE, which is used to make plastic lumber) and a couple of pieces of angle iron. You don't have to put a bit of wax on it, and it will slide oh so splendidly.

Bees wax is very soft with a very low melting temp. Carnauba wax is much harder and has a higher melt point. It is also quite expensive.

Awesome! You guys should try to make a ledge topped with a Delrin (POM) layer on top. It will be slippy like wax but tougher/ more durable (possibly more expensive). :)
