It's basically an airplane that died and was reincarnated as a car. Did I mention that the aerodynamic styling is also a dead giveaway?

I noticed it has a South Wind gasoline heater hanging under the dash. That thing burned gasoline by tapping into the intake manifold below the carb. It was on or off. 'On' soon made the rubber floor mat get hot and start smoking. Turning it off was the answer! It severely reduced MPG! but was instant on and really poured out the heat which was great in frigid central PA!

In Czechoslovakia in the '30s they were building air-cooled Tatras that utilised some of the design features seen on this, (& which Ferdinand Porsche plagerised for the design of Hitler's 'people's car'). Czech engineering was very advanced at that time, & was something the Germans took full advantage of after their invasion of the country!

Well Ferdinand Porsche was himself already well into air cooled engines and lightweight body designs when he designed the VW. I'm one person who would love to own a Tatra car though, the more I learn about them the more I admire the design and engineering. People never give the Czecks much credit but for those who've learned, their designs, quality of build and innovation put them easily on par with the world's best.
