The frosts buildup in the freezer is due to you opening it up often allowing warm air to fill the freezer tub.. causing moisture condensation = frost buildup . Also that is where it appears the cooling is focused from the condenser coils. My concern is battery draw … cool however - good review - Thanks

If this is clearly supposed to be designed for Tesla's 3 & Y, why did they put the power plug on the 'wrong side' vs the 12v socket and make you shove the cord and wrap around, makes me wonder just how good (or not good) the engineering of this unit actually is if they can't even think that through. Nice product & review, just wondering if that's a clue to a shortcut on proper engineering. IDK.
@MrLuckyAndrew

That is a very good point you got there, why didn’t they put the system and control in the left side also? I do believe they took parts from the other fridges in their product line and repackage into the Tesla

@rono33
@rono33 Жыл бұрын
@@sachinrane2770huh? Look 👀 @1:28 the power cord comes out of the right side of the fridge which forces you to wrap it around the fridge, the long way, and shove the chord into the crevices to hide it, instead of just having a power cord, exit the left side of the fridge and plugging it straight into the left side of the Socket location. Duh.

Thanks for the awesome content, Shiva! ✌ If you're experiencing frost buildup in the freezer, it's likely due to frequent openings, causing condensation. The unit's power plug placement may not be the best engineering move. Regarding weight and battery draw, I'd be cautious during long trips to maintain EV range.

May I request some videos, related to noise and vibration reduction related, I have a 2023 Model Y where it i making some noise that I can not pin point and only my ears can notice it, no body else does and it driving me nuts. There are some videos already out there but not sure those will help me or not and some out there is bit difficult for me to follow and complete the job. No rush....

Way too expensive. Seems like they used to have it retail (I’ve seen it somewhere before) but it seems they pulled it off shelves and make it a kickstarter (maybe they can make more money that way). I am in Canada and it is about $541 CAD after shipping before taxes. I bought F40C4TMP 30 quarts instead from Amazon for about $290 after taxes with free shipping (it was on sale). I lost 5 quarts compare to this but half the price, so I’m pretty happy with it. Plus it has some room on the side as well unlike this fridge that takes all of the subtrunk space. However, thanks for your honesty about kickstarter stuff. I know a lot off companies like to use KZbinrs as their ad avenue than using traditional ads. Keep up the great work.

Thank you! I have asked them for an answer but the power draw is not that bad. I left it running for several hours and the battery voltage didn't drop at all. They tested it overnight with no issues as well. The 16V should work fine because the rear outlet is stepped down to 12V (at least based on what I have heard).

Nice but, definitely not designed by Tesla. Even if it's designed for a specific car, you still get the power cable on the other side of the trunk than the plug. Also, the display is already dirty with fingerprints after only 2 minutes of using it. I would also like to see how it gets rid of heat once you close the lid and trunk.

@Siva Sapkota, I have a question on this particular product. Would it still stay powered up when you're away from the car for brief periods? For example, in my particular use case my wife and I take trips to Austin every couple of weeks and we frequently take food for our son who's on Campus in UT Austin but we've had to use cooler bags to store it during the 3 1/2 hr trip from Dallas and immediately upon arrival we take it to his dorm refrigerator to store it for the week for his consumption. I'll mention that we will take your typical pitstop for food and the usual activities so my initial question is for these particular instances. So if I'm away from the car, do I need to keep Camp Mode or Dog Mode on to ensure the refrigerator is still drawing power to function? I hope my question is clearly stated and my apologies if it's too lengthy.
@paulmelvin4317
@paulmelvin4317 Жыл бұрын
That is correct. My understanding is it runs from your small battery, not the main battery. You can also just use sentry mode. And only lose maybe 5 miles of range.
@rono33

Quick question: is sentry mode the (only) way for constant power to that rear 12 socket? or does dog mode and camp mode activate the same 12v socket output? THX!!

Hey Shiva or anyone else in this comment section... so I have one problem before getting this product. I have a 2018 Model 3 with every upgrade and feature available... I thought. I don't have the 12v trunk power outlet. I know most every feature is built into every Tesla, they're just not activated or turned on... so does that maybe mean that the power cables are already there, just not being used? Thanks
@ShivaSapkota
@ShivaSapkota Жыл бұрын
Model 3s don't have that 12V outlet in the back. If you order the Model 3 version of this fridge, they will send you a long cable that passes through the back seat and into the armrest to connect to your 12V. Thank you
@WheelzTV
@WheelzTV Жыл бұрын
@@ShivaSapkota I currently use my center console 12v for my dash cam and don't really have any other options. Guess I'll have to figure out how to add the outlet to my trunk, then I could put it on the passenger side as some people have mentioned it should be in your comments. 🙂
@ShivaSapkota
@ShivaSapkota Жыл бұрын
@@WheelzTV You can add an extension to the 12V or just get a dual port outlet. To add an extension you can remove the central console panels and use a spiltter. It is doable but will take some work :)

edit: warning 1:00 that cable is very badly engineered, it has a high risk of leading to a short circuit and burning down your car. Tell the developer to solve this major safety problem before sending any to the customers. The wire should not be forced in such a way. The connector should be further to the right of that location and create a crease for the cable to fit in there without any tight bends. Here is a question. Tesla is switching from 12v to 16v stuff. Can all of the addons you presented in your videos work with the new 16v architecture?
