for real...one that could do 10000 feet and 24 hour battery life ;p
@AllenHanPR2 жыл бұрын
Big problems about going deeper. For every 33 feet (10.06 meters) you go down, the pressure increases by one atmosphere So at 330 ft. were talking about 150 PSI. Humans can do 50 PSI, anything above that you're blood vessels will pop. So in order to even invent something for 10K ft, the technology would have to be extremely advanced, because the shell needs to be rebuilt, including the glass and the motors, cause the water pressure would turn something that small into a soda can. A military-grade submarine can go only 1500 ft, that would turn a human body into ketchup basically. The deepest Sub ever created is called the DSV Limiting Factor, which cost $37 million, the whole thing is made of titanium, because that is the only way a sub can do that deep, it can go 36K feet.
@OutsideDuhBox2 жыл бұрын
@@AllenHanPR 37k feet is 3x what we are asking for. It can be done 🤑 hehe. Deep sea submersibles today.easily do 8 to 10k already. We just need a way longer battery life/oxygen life/faster/safer. 👍 Im thinking 1million a unit would still make profit hehe

Also yes, it looks like a seamoth. I want one. First, I need a job. Baby steps.

It's only rated for 300 ft underwater while the Titan was rated (by OceanGate themselves) for 12000 ft..so yeah..this one is far safer especially due to the spherical hull. It also has an emergency system accessible from the outside by divers. It also has a "latch".
@itsukarine Жыл бұрын
Not sure what your definition of safety here is... the Titan would probably have had zero pressure issues indefinitely at 100m.
@moulanakratos Жыл бұрын
@@itsukarine yeah taking it to depths that it can safely reach and is rated for does count as safety. The Titan wasn't structurally sound to withstand 12000 ft depths yet was taken to those depths multiple times. It's hull wasn't even spherical..it was cylindrical which is just insane. Any third party organization wouldn't have rated it for such depths which is why it was never certified.
@AviationEli Жыл бұрын
This makes absolutely no sense, this is like saying, foam is safer than metal because foam can withstand pressures from the surface of the water while a hollow piece of metal can't handle diving into the Titanic. Attach a rope to both of these submersibles and slowly drop them and find out which one is the "safest." This "Supercar Submarine" couldn't go nearly half the depth that the Titan was capable of doing without cracking the acyrlic and imploding.
@moulanakratos Жыл бұрын
@@AviationEli going at less depths is far safer. You did not understand what i wrote all. I am not commenting on the safety of the materials used. I am talking about the fact that this submersible has been rated for a much safer depth and therefore is a lot safer to get into. Plus this one has a spherical hull, a shape which is far better at handling pressures than a cylinder. Even though it's rated for much lower depths, it is still using an spherical hull. This sub also has a built in sonar something the "Titan" did not have. The Titan also did not have a "latch" which again this particular sub has. The Titan was also using unconventional materials that went against established science, this one is not. The Titan was also not rated by anyone and instead was tested "in house" which is just great 👍

Looks way safer than the Titan. I am jealous... that looks amazing and lots of fun!
@AviationEli Жыл бұрын
Far more secure than the Titan? Instead of this, I'd rather board Ocean Gate's submersible. This ridiculous device could only travel about half the depth of the Titan's dives and could only withstand about a third of the pressure the Titan could withstand during each of its dives. The entire inner submersible would implode if you even ventured to dive this thing a third of the way down because the glass canopy would shatter instantly. Looks can definitely be effective in technology, but when it comes to submersibles, all your focus should be on the pressure, and depth capabilities, which is exactly what the Titan was engineered to due at a certain point. At this moment, we are still unaware of the reasons for the implosion, it could have been due to an internal fire or a minor crack of some sort that started the tragedy. At the end of the day, the Titan did supply countless missions to the Titanic not flawlessly but efficiently for a "home-made" build. The whole point is, if you were to attach a rope on both modules and slowly lower them down, this "Super-car Submarine" would implode far far far quicker than the Titan. To be quite honest, I don't understand why there is so much criticism for Ocean Gate. The waiver specifically considered it an un-certified vehicle and stated the possibility of death over five times. The occupants chose to dive down regardless of the dangers and met their unfortunate fate. The same applies to any other form of technology we have. The first plane crash was On Sept. 17, 1908, by the Wright brothers which seriously hurt one of the Orwell brothers, but they didn't face criticism, the idea of flight was a wonderful thing back then regardless of the danger, people strived for. Every year, about 200,000 car crashes occur, some killing lives, but we don't criticize, Honda, Ford, Chevrolet, Tesla, Jeep, etc for their lack of safety. It's just a part of life. When we build and advance our technological abilities, accidents are going to occur regardless of safety measures, and that's how we better learn what NOT to do.

@@AviationEli What is bro on about 💀
@natfreakinggeo Жыл бұрын
@@AviationEli He brushed off customer worries of safety concerns. The material gets weaker every dive and was going to happen eventually. It wasn't a possibility of death, it was a guarantee for one group at some point. WIth that being said, this submarine will be much safer at its max depth maximum than Titan is at its max depth.

@@natfreakinggeo In overall structural integrity, the Titan would obviously be stronger, but yes, looking at both max depths this model would be better for it's depth.

Sub rule Always have a large difference between how much you can go down and how much you will go down just to be safe. Example: sub can go down 100m and it's max is 400m do not exceed 250 or only do 100m Ideally you want the depth to be at a height that's necessary compared to unnecessary so not trips to the titanic. Doing it for leisure should be something to enjoy and this looks really cool, I'd also suggest making sure there's something that can propell it back up. Ideally it should have 3 redundancies, air, battery and maybe a safety tether.

There was absolutely nothing safe about Ocean Gate’s wreckless operations. And it’s unfortunate how it hurt the image of companies that actually go the extra mile to make things safe operate. This submersible looks properly built and I’d definitely give it a try! My only wish would be to make it faster. Can’t imagine how fun it would be to zoom through a coral reef
