The world economy has undergone a profound shift towards environmental consciousness. However, these green efforts are an excuse for some to ramp up trade protectionism. The recent tariffs by the U.S. and the EU on China-made electric vehicles reveal how environmental policies can mask trade barriers. As countries embark on a green transition, how can it be managed equitably so all nations can benefit? Keeping China-U.S. relations in mind, how can Europe independently navigate the situation?
