The company selling them sends out cubes and than gets creators to release "content" *cough* ads *cough* using their product at the same time to make it seem like everyone has and needs a 4inch W cube. Just look for the next big supercar launch and see how many hundreds of videos from every creator are released at the sameish time.

A serious question for you guys- Does the Gravity Research Centre (by which I mean the building next to the tower you use, which most likely owns it) have a seismometer on site? If so, I think it would be very interesting to look at the readings whenever you make a drop, as technically you would be causing mini earthquakes to occur each time you impact. You could also then literally quantify the force transfered from the impacts (given that the mass of the Earth and distance of detection from the impact would be effectively constant) and determine a scale of energy transference- you could quantify just how hard Brucie can punching the Earth, for example.
@Sheridantank4 жыл бұрын
It’s not a “mini earthquake”. They surely would register on a seismograph though. You could compute the forces Just with basic math without dropping anything. They should get a seismograph to measure the impact though, still a good idea
@_tertle38924 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: a German scientist used a 4 ton steel ball to create an artificial mini earthquake to be able to tell what materials where underground before other more efficient methods where available

There's a formula for that somewhere. I'm not a scientist or a mathematician. It has something to do with force, mass, acceleration and stuff. I only know the limited bit I read from looking into maximum break strength (MBS) of carabiners. I have taken an interest in climbing trees (arboriculture) and I dive down rabbit holes every once in a while. I'm still very ignorant to a lot of the trade though.

Some physics comparison here with a .50 Cal bullet: •The energy of the tungsten cube from this height is 9kJ while the .50 cal bullet is 18kJ, bullet wins here •The momentum of the tungsten cube is 600Ns vs the .50 cal's 38 Ns, so the cube wins here In short, the bullet can break more stuff but the cube sends the shrapnel flying more explosively. It would be interesting to compare the two in destructive power in a video!

The symbol "W" comes from the middle name of Tungsten-> The name "wolfram" (or "volframio") comes from the German Wolf ram, "wolf dirt", because this black mineral reduces the value of the tin veins in which it is present. In today's German, the name Tungsten is also used.

10:47 here’s the scientific explanation. Since water is not easily compressed, if something hits it, the the energy that goes into the water comes right back out. The buckets compressed, which then built up potential energy The bucket then stretched out, and that un stretching caused the bucket to go up in the air. That, coupled with the other buckets doing the same caused the bucket to go flying Also, at 11:45 you can see the force go down the buckets and back up, just like a Newton’s cradle, but with a wall on one end
@rick46772 жыл бұрын
i think in this case it’s mainly actually the water and air from the buckets below it being displaced at a rapid rate shooting out the top cause the lot of the bucked was the weakest point which shot the top one up
@quigonkenny2 жыл бұрын
@@rick4677 This. You can see it in the slowie. On contact, you first see the green liquid shoot up around the cube and out the top, as the cube displaces it. You also see the two other buckets start to be compressed down as the kinetic energy of the cube starts to transfer into the liquid. Since the red liquid bucket can't go anywhere, it rips along the side and is just obliterated as the blue liquid bucket pushes into it. After the cube passes into the blue liquid, you get a repeat of it passing into the green liquid, and the blue liquid shooting upwards is what jets the green liquid bucket away. The blue liquid bucket then bounces away as the cube passes through the bottom of it and into the sand.
