Would like to see more options on this engine; maybe a mild mannered street set up with the option for a lot of cam overlap version. Its a standard that off the shelf parts can put an American V8 at the 1.25 HP range. With so much custom work and $'s I was expecting more. Not knowing specific parameters, Im only guessing that the cam, cylinder heads, and intake are holding this thing back. Ild say if you're gonna spend the money this thing costs, forget Brodix and opt for some MBE heads and intake.., whats another 8k to the price ;), its only money

It's got to be more than the novelty of having a Big inch LS ...

If you want a low horsepower Street motor than stick with smaller displacement... if you're going to try to turn out 500 plus cubic inches from a small block, there's no reason to push everything else to the limits... frankly I think he's still losing horsepower from the heads. The reason Big Blocks are able to turn out more Powers because they have more room in the heads for airflow.

I honestly was expecting 1k horsepower. I have an 11.8 CR 416ci LS3 with a 240/250 .623 .617 114 and some WCCH Stage 2 LS3 heads and I wouldn't think it would be that far off. Super Chevy or one of the magazines built an engine the same size as mine with 10.8 or 11.1 compression, less duration and lift, and Scoggin Dickey heads that flowed a good bit less than mine and made 630 hp. I figure mine is probably in the 640-650 range and mine cost less than the heads and intake for this I bet. I realize this would make a boat load more HP and TQ than mine lower in the revs but not enough to justify the cost. I wonder why the power is so low.

I had 1 of 11 436ci stroker engines built back in 2002 by ARE (Agostino Racing Engines) and with very bad flowing LS1 heads of the time and a ported LS6 intake and stock TB at 11.3:1 cr it made 530 RWHP. Idled close to stock, but yes, with a nice little lope. Thats a LOT of power for way back then. If Brodix, LS7 or MAST heads were available back then it would have easily made 630 RWHP. So that 527ci is actually pretty cheesy......not sure why its so low on power at 11.5:1 cr. Makes no sense. Alan Futral built 14.1 cr 427's that made 850 HP on the engine dyno....15 years ago. Yes, it was a big ass cam but they were sweet. NASTY as all hell in a street car. Its all in the builder.......Erik Koenig isn't doing something correctly.
