Species. Breeds are the different forms of domesticated animals that we humans selectively bred in a controlled environment, whereas species are different forms of wild animals that form because of natural selection. The albatross has never been domesticated so it is a species.

Man what are we going to do without Sir David A.? My mother's generation and even my grandmother who was born in 1915, were deeply inspired by this man. He's not even a once in a generation journalist/ naturalist and story teller. He's a once in several generations story teller. My hero. 💙

Actually, it's the wandering albatross with the 11 foot wingspan. Black-browed albatross are smaller, with a 7 foot wingspan.

I lived on midway for 4 years as a kid in 1970. My dad a naval officer. He took care fairy terns that fallen off trees. We feed over 300 birds. A lot of minnows to catch. We had help from neighbors and my dad's coworkers. I attended george cannon school thru 4th grade. I did not understand the rusty war plane wreckage scattered across the shoreline at the end of the airstrip. That's where we catch minnows for the Hungary baby terns. Sometimes adult terns show up for a free meal. I got bitten by a murray eel
