Nope, once the cutting starts, the dust appears. The water spray helps but, if you look at the trucks etc, they are still covered in dust. Silicosis is a problem when working with stone, Arthrosclerosis when cutting coal. Any decent employer will be sure to have proper air filters for the machine cabs and provide proper face-hugging masks for the workers outside. NOT, those pathetic paper/cloth masks we used for a recent infection. If most of your country is desert and you are permanently downwind of it then, yes, you also have a problem.

@@PhilJonesIII Cutting or even drilling into masonry, yetung blocks, concrete, will also denerate silicate dust. Always collect and dispose of any such dust in the home or office.

@@trespire Absolutely! It's nasty stuff and the effects can take years to show up. I was brought up in a mining district and saw too many (not so old) men struggling to breath while simply walking. Compensation claims were often dismissed and took years to process often with the victim dying before any settlement.

Use a softer material on the inner surface of the wheels. It offers high friction while being soft enough to bend around the cutting edge. It's counter-intuitive but a possible example is trying to cut an eraser with a knife.
