So they sell em to us all. Jay! Well, I bought a Vic Champion in 1983, instant love, and have to admit ... it was to bulky for my everyday use. I liked your review. I have an older Victorinox SwissChamp XAVT, but my model (#1.6795.XAVT) is no longer in production. It has 80 features. It's not really a practical EDC knife, but it's very impressive. Mine has a built-in clock/calendar LCD display on one side, and two hooks instead of one. Mine doesn't have the universal wrench tool, but that would be a nice addition.

I collect Swiss Army knives. In my opinion, the "Swiss Champ" is the the largest of the classic Victorinox designs to still be handy to use and not too expensive. These huge models are interesting to collect but impractically large and heavy. I have one (with the butane lighter!) and stupidly dropped it onto the floor. The smaller knives would have survived with no ill effects but this beast was so heavy that it cracked one of the scales!

I had a habit of pocketting one whenever I leave home. One day I forgot about it at the airport after checking in my luggages. All hell broke loose, thinking that it would surely be detected and confiscated. Luckily it was safe with me till today. Nowadays I leave home without it. It has 8 tools. А как таким пользоваться? Его даже в руке держать неудобно ж. Нормальный мультитул состоит из нескольких функций не из-за лени создателей, а из-за ограничений в удобства использования. Проще носить с собой одну рукоятку для отвертки и набор битков, чем стопятьсот битков, торчащие из одного инструмента.
