Let me explain - Warsaw is not coming from the city, which saw war... (War Saw). It is english translation of an original name Warszawa, whis was created from the names of mythical pair Wars and Sawa - Wars was an fisherman and Sawa was a siren woman. Sawa felt in love and she lost her fish tail and got the legs. That's why the Warsaw shield has the siren with a sword...

I'll give her the benefit of a doubt bc she clearly wasn't briefed on the proper way how to deal with wild life. Most Polish ppl heard about peacocks in Łazienki so they know that it's inappropriate to chase them and you can get some nasty scars. Koreans don't have that knowledge.

in Poland it's called "Warszawa" as well, and it has nothing to do with a war at all, there's this legend of a fisherman called Wars and mermaid- Sawa, who fell in love with each other and so the city was created. In reality, Warsaw is a pretty new city, changed from a meaningless village to be a capital of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, halfway between Kraków and Vilnius (capital of Lithuania) and fairly close to Sweden (strong player in the region at the time). But this remains true that it saw war, in 1942 it had 1.400 million inhabitants, in 1945- 162 thousand. It's due to the city getting completely razed to the ground, jewish ghetto (around 400 thousand people) liquidated, people killed in the Warsaw Uprising, relocated, sent to concentration camps or just moving out.
