I used to make carbon fiber car parts. You need a few more things. You need to use a proper mold with mold release, the carbon fiber, stuff called peel ply, a fluffy mat type material called bleeder...it allows the excess resin to be sucked thru the peel ply and compress the carbon into a uniform thickness, and then your bag with absolutely no leaks. Also, the mold has to be a reverse of the bat...in other words you're building from the inside out. It would be a difficult, but not impossible task. We used to make tube protectors for race car tube frames and it was somewhat similar, but it was a semicircular shape. I never actually made a real bat so I can't say with any conviction on how to do it. But that's a very basic idea.

They make carbon fiber tube socks, it's a single piece and you'd be able to stretch it to the exact shape of the bat, with zero seams. Also, the vaccum bags are pretty pointless in this case as you're not doing resin infusion, so it's not really doing anything. Also, spray glue is your best option, it plays well with resins and styrofoam.

I actually worked in a factory that made carbon fiber bats for like a month, and I actually was responsible for the first step of winding carbon thread around a metal rod to make the shape of the bat, it's was an overarching structure of overlapping thread and there was 9 layers of it, once sent off to the finishing team where they seal it you then had to put the carbon and kevlar sleeves over the center of the bat, where the ball would hit, they were then sent off to be capped and then finished

Don't know if you guys read feedback, but based on this video it seems Dan and Mitch left the company and that you both are in charge of videos. It's a little sad, but I believe the channel can still continue strong. My only suggestion is to pull back on how 'dumb' the videos turn out. The ideas and effort are 100% there, but through editing and presentation it makes it seem like more of a mess than it really is. Hopefully others would agree but I would really like to see a bit more of a serious spin with the projects so it feels like you guys are doing things we wish we could do with those tools and machines. Best of luck!

Fun fact: the top end Finnish baseball bats have garbon fiber! I have no idea how they are made in reality but they have multiple materials like glass fiber too. Also the bats are much lighter compared to baseball, as pitching is vertical over the plates and due to there being a back foul line meaning accuracy is much MUCH more important than hitting distance

You should use FiberFix. It’s like a tape version of carbon fibre that you submerge in water to set

Aramid fibre is probably better than carbon fibre as it holds up much better to impacts, which carbon is really bad at.

The learning process is so funny how you try the 2 glues that don't work to find the glue that work, I think leaving that in the video is great because this is exactly how I learn too and super realistic

Steps for success: 1. Use higher density foam 2. Buy some thin CF tape/strip (thin enough to conform to your smallest radii) 3. Use an ATL (Automated tape layer) on a lathe (I guess you could so it by hand)
