Excellent review! I bought one soon as it became available from Barra USA. Hands down "THE" most fun BB gun made PERIOD! Fun, very accurate, 1000 shots per charge. solidly constructed... What more could one want? Only negative is the price, but soon as you shoot the 400e, you'll totally forget what you paid. Awesome fun!!!

They are also more expensive but in my view worth it. I can't tell which ones you're using but they look like the zinc ones (judging by the color), at least those in the larger container. No?

So if THIS is the best BB Gun why is there in pretty much every review of a online trader so many people said they were so pumped coz of other reviews and videos, but there was the same amount of reviews were people said this gun sucks. They got no response from traders, dealers, even not from Barra directly. Plus, "Hands down", if a gun sounds like a carrera car toy racing track, u know, the SOUND kills all the fun. And also, if you got sponsored your Rifles your Cartridges, your Ammo and everything it is easy to "play" with a -all needs combined- 600$ "Toy". I'll tell you what, I just ordered the UMAREX LEGENDS MP40 FULL AUTO GERMAN LEGACY EDITION for 349$ with an extra 50rounds Magazin included, and the POWER is at least 2-3 times higher than this piece of plastic. The MP40 is a Full Metal product that has ca.7-8 pounds of a "Toy".

That would be my greatest concern is the gearing and the general build quality. Many early airsoft guns were fragile, and the metal upgraded versions were stupid money. As a traditional airgun enthusiast, I only had a passing interest in this class of gun but we did use them at work as a training aid and trade show display tool. Batteries in the early guns were a concern as well and hearing that you could not dump one in this gun is impressive. With a precision steel smoothbore barrel, it has been clearly demonstrated over the years that a BB spitter can be highly accurate at modest ranges when firing decent quality steel ball ammo. Seeing your many smiles and hearing those chuckles got my attention. Seems like a ton of fun and I intend to look harder at this Barra product for potential purchase moving forward. By the way young man,...that slotted section at the 12 O'clock position is called: a "Picatinny" rail. Weaver is DOA these days, but I won't hold that against you this time around. Stay well brother. -Steve Gibbons - Former Senior Field Editor for US Airgun Magazine.

This has been a joy to own. Out of all the bb guns I've had and still do, this is the only one worth a red dot. I used a cheap one (25 bucks). It's so accurate at respectable ranges for bbs that it almost gets boring lol. Yeah. Don't use copper bbs. They wont feed. Daisy works fine. Only thing I disagree with you on is the charging handle. It actually does load the first bb but you don't have to use it. On the first cycle it will pick up a bb. Try to control your laughter when using it, it's addictive! Only bad point is the loader. It's a learned skill. I don't see me using any of my co2 bb guns again.

Cool bb gun. Good job on the video. All the full auto air guns are a blast to shoot for sure. The most "wicked" one I've ever owned however, was a full on Russian Drozd Blackbird with the high end mod chip and the hammer forged 24" barrel. Switched to hpa, I was sawing things apart with close to 900fps at the nozzle...and 1,200rpm. That's more than double the velocity of the Barra and DOUBLE the cyclic rate. It too is electric and for the fastest select fire mod chip, you have to run really expensive batteries. Plus is, they're standard AA size, readily available on line, and last a very long time. You can even purchase a double drum mag for the Blackbird...if you can find one. $400 is pretty pricey for a Barra. Unfortunately, the Drozd guns have steadily increased in price over the last decade. I may have paid a whopping $300 for mine about 12 years ago...2nd hand, in pristine condition, and already fully modded for the numbers noted above. Again, thank you for a very good presentation. Kudos man. Good job.

Good review….seriously. I have run 5000 BB’s through my 400e……no disappointment. One jam, had to pull the barrel to clear it. Fantastic shooter. I can’t wait for someone to take the gearbox apart and put in a stronger spring in and a stronger motor. 450-500fps would be awesome. The re-loader is kinda crappy until you spray some silicone lube into the ammo bottle. It really works better once you have sprayed some lube into the ammo bottle. It is pretty accurate, 1-2 inch groups at 30-40 ft. Bravo to Barra for bringing this to the USA. Made in Taiwan. I’m ok with that.

Good tip on the loader. Did the same thing. Yeah that loader for all the negative rhetoric that thing draws and definitely earns it lol it just takes as others and you have stated a little finesse and silicone. So you may be getting your wish as I just had mine crap out day before yesterday. I've been noticing that it seemed like it was starting to have some performance issues by way of it starting to jam drop the mag and you know four five BBS or so fall out and then it wouldn't propel but motor ran but I could hear that it sounded sick. Fortunately there's dozens of KZbin videos uploaded by airsoft enthusiasts who've experienced the many various ways the motors malfunction etc and I'm gonna pop open the grip this evening and see what I can see. But even prior to this malfunction I had already been contemplating a way to put a more powerful upgrade in it lol. Hella accurate gun tho and the money I'm saving on Co2 totally justified the high price this thing carries. I had about a 25.00 a week habit lmao! And after all it is the " world's 1st" Elec bb gun. Just want a lil more fps. Lol. Cheer's!

I think the Crosman SBR full auto mimics a real fire arm much better, has more power @ 430 fps and will still function if the grid goes down, but they need to strengthen the build since after a little over a year owning one the internals started falling apart along with the magazine because of the impact of the blowback action. That being said I'm sure the EBarra is fun but I'd still rather have the more power for self defense against an intruder, and yes the Crosman SBR did help me with an intruder, a loose pitbull coming into our yard. Also since you like the Ebarra so much maybe you should review the Crosman SBR full auto bb gun.

i figured out the “bb loader issue” with bbs getting stuck. I opened it up and saw how it funnels bbs to a single file. The neck on the inside narrows as you would expect, but where it looks like the bbs are getting hung up is the neck its self. Its not flat and smooth plastic (I guess to maybe save on plastic and or weight) they used vertical ribs of plastic where a bb can get offset by half a millimeter preventing it from moving forward causing the bb behind it to offset and get stuck on the other side. Doesn’t jam in the plastic “gap” i guess you would call it which allows shaking to clear it. So it just needs something like that UV resin to fill it and smooth out the sides.. I took some close up photos to show whats happening.

PS to all……the barrel has 2 o-rings. One o-ring sits in a groove on the barrel that guides the barrel into the front of of the receiver. You would think that someone would mention this groove/o-ring in a video. Ok, the other o-ring - hmm - not super sure, but i think it keeps the aluminum sleeve in the body of the gun to steady the barrel. You can clearly see this sleeve at 9:17 of this video. I actually put some RTV on the outside of this sleeve to hold the barrel steady in the body. I then used that second o-ring to keep the tip of the barrel steady at the very end of the barrel, when you screw the “moderator” back on. Any suggestions as to my logic would be appreciated. PS….this thing rocks.

The odd thing about the loader is BBs will sometimes jam where the angled slot meets the ram chamber. This jam I believe comes from a minutely oversized BB that won't pass through. I've found the best way to unjam it is to shake the loader till the problem BB is moved away. I've also found it is best to allow only 6-7 BBs into the ram chamber. Trying to push more than that can result in the ram plunger hanging up. The loader takes some practice learning, but once you get used to it, no problem.

Great video, been wondering about the internals ever since the shot show videos. Thanks! I have over 2 dozen airguns, almost all replicas. The crosman fullautos are among my favourites, I have 5 and they definitely do not hold consistent FPS like this badboy, and the full auto groupings dont come close to the Barra's. Being a mechanic I kinda deal with with the co2 and accept the limitations. The crosmans will have trouble running below 16-17°C and will run way too hot and potentially break internals above 24-25ish°C (like if you leave your mag in the sun). The only thing the crosmans have over the 400e is the mechanical functions and breakdown replica aspect.

I applaud you STARTING the video by shooting the gun! That is soooooo important. I tried to watch a bunch of videos about this gun. All of them started with a ton of yapping and very little shooting. Dudes described the type of cans they were shooting!! For minutes , then spent five seconds shooting the gun! Idiots! What are they thinking?? So thank you for shooting the damn thing.

I owned a double 12gram cartridge powered automatic BB gun that cost me 230dollar that is trash compare to this, it can only shots 140rounds and the mag is 20cpacity, the bullet speed dropped incredibly from 500fps to 200fps. However, it is one of the most popular co2 powered BB gun in the market.

I have had to remember the shooting and safe positions for the switch from the point of contact to my finger for where that part of the switch is facing not the arrow that is how I got it in my head that when that part of the switch is back then it's safe and when that part of the switch is forward then it's full auto cuz I think of it that as so long as the switch is back if I fired the bb direction is back so none would come out but when I put that part of the switch forward then the bbs would be going full forward and down semi forward.

That gun looks pretty cool and sounds pretty cool I always love your videos. And I know you take pride in what you review. But I've had I think 4 of the umarex steel force guns and have never had luck with them they only last about a month and they don't have any warranty repair I have the Glock 19 and you can't keep babies in the mag they constantly sling them all out out I have the 6 hour P320 the slide doesn't work on that you have to push it forward every time and I had the ebos which I loved the sound of that 1 and that 1 only lasted me about 2 months and I take extreme care of all my air rifles which I have quite a few of the PCP's Some on the high end. So I'm pretty upset with the quality of the machine gun or semi automatic BB guns cause they don't back anything and like I said I take great care of all my stuff and they just don't last. I think the ebos. Operated pretty much like the gun you are reviewing now.

I know I'm late to the party, but what purpose does the ejection port cover play, other than the obvious ? And does it open upon first firing of the gun, in much the same fashion as a real firearm ? Or does it give access to the air cylinder, perhaps to aid with the clearing of a jam ? Otherwise, it looks like it may invite dust and dirt in, to gum up the works ?

You had me hooked right up till the battery. Aren't there any companies that make a pcp bb gun? I have several pcp air rifles and would be easier to use air rather than batteries or co2. They made those bb guns for country fairs and such hooked up to an air compressor or bottled gas.

Question: 1. Whats the future of the barra 400e? 2. Will there be a short barrel version of this rifle? 3. Can the inner barrel be replaced with a short barrel one and without the wanna be moderator? 4. Since the company has an airsoft side, will they incorporate a Mosfet into future barra 400e versions? 5. Internal wise will there mods available for the gun? 6. Can the rate of fire be change by using a higher amp battery? 7. Can the FPS be changed?

How is the prospective coming to modify the airsoft high capacity bottom toothed spring wheel being necked down as well as a resized internal sorter, from airsoft to bb? This seems to be a simple process that would greatly increase the ammo capacity as well as ease of loading. Barra has a knockout top of the line product that is sure to be the future. Thank you

I found that you can put a battery in the top of the gun butt and still fit one in vertical. I'm looking at getting a splitter so I can have two batteries in at the same time. But I'm wanting to know if I can increase the voltage a little by taking two 7.4v batteries and put them in series so voltage is at 14.8v. Can the motor handle it? Just got it a few days ago and really enjoying it.

What I want to know is how long is the delay between pulling the trigger and it actually firing. Lot of AEGs feel similar to an open bolt sub gun, there's a small delay between pulling the trigger and it firing when the motor pulls the plunger back. Debating about getting one just cuz it might be quieter than my co2 bb guns in the backyard.

As usual, we don't get automatic in the UK and we need a licence for a semi auto bb gun. Have to be a time served part of an airsoft association before you can get one. But, we can have replica co2 guns, with no restrictions.

Goddamn man, I know the brits and everyone else thinks our firearms laws are reckless, but I can't imagine existing in some nanny state that requires a firearm license for the equivalent of a fuckin kids toy. As for this gun I like the capacity and length of fire time, but I think I really prefer the sound, action, and extra fps that the co2 auto guns provide. Always hated the electric sound
