Condition of first officer seem very similar to what i have in dry air - irritation of airways and uncontrolable cough because of itchy throat. I usually use a mask to have inhaled air to be not as dry in such conditions.

The captain put his hands together before landing the airplane probably don't put a lot of confidence in westerners. Just their custom before going into a house or saying hello to things at first meet of that day like some westerners pass by a cross😂😂😂
