From the treacherous Halsema Highway in the Philippine jungle to the breathtaking Leh-Manali Highway in India and the remote Sichuan-Tibet Highway, these journeys remind us of the incredible diversity of our planet's landscapes. The chaotic but determined drivers on the Nawabpur Road in Dhaka, Bangladesh, demonstrate the resilience of the human spirit. Back to watch these all over again, still great viewing. Incredibly good episodes, all of them. I want this narrator to follow me around and describe the world just like he does here. Every new situation or entrance would begin with a short prolog, and whenever I open my mouth, no matter what I say or how I say it, he should repeat it just like he does here, maybe refining my words a bit or replacing my more colorful vernacular with something more familiar to whomever I am speaking to, or occasionally a mistranslated word that makes no sense whatsoever, and always of course using his signature lyrical cadence with just a hint of good humor. My life would be so much more fun and the people with whom I interact would be far more agreeable. It may not seem like it, but really it's a compliment. I need this, I do, I so do.

Hard life is everywhere. In the West people work like donkeys6 to pay for borrowing for everything like phone, car, house, furniture, travel/vacation & credit card. Many are on anti depressants and anti anxiety drugs because of lacking debt free life. Many commit suicide. I bet you take those meds. Real life is what the people in the document are living, not borrowed time money. It all starts with student loans & the rest is sad. What a pity & real hard life. Viva Great Mother Africa.

The Sichuan-tibetan documentary was made in 2009. They mention the earthquake and it happened in 2008. I wa in the region from 2004 to 2008 and the road was being paved. Nowadays, hundreds of thousands of normal cars and SUVs make that trip each years for tourism and its as safe as it can be for high altitude passages. The part from chengdu to kangding now can be done in 3hrs and is a milti-lane highway. China is building a high speed railway along the highway last time i visited in 2019. I've done many mountain passes in the US and this one drives about the same as CO52 (connecting Aspen and leadville) or Going to the Sun road in Glaicer National Park.

I know, I agree. Poor woman. Some people have such though lives. Makes you grateful for what you have. I don't get people from relatively wealthy countries who haggle and try to save a few cents, it's nothing to them. People should tip well if they're privileged enough to be able too, a few cents is nothing to some of us but it can be a big deal to some.
