Anyone visiting the Alps region must take this ride up to shynige platte, the ride on the steam locomotive is an experience in itself and the stunning views are just breathtaking, it is less crowded and once at the top there is a beautiful hike. I am so glad i did this last year in Swutzerland.

Understood. But, the Swiss are meticulous about their maintenance. Seeing the "old" materials by the side of the main path actually inspires confidence in me. It means they are on top of things/maintenance. I am certain that the old materials will be gathered up (and probably recycled) shortly. If you think about all of the rack rails, funiculars and cableways in Switzerland and you virtually never see materials by the side of the path, you would be confident that the Swiss would clean it up quickly. In fact, if you have never done so, please ride one of the Swiss ferries, a steam version if you can. The engines in these ferries are in most cases, at least 110 years old. The Swiss maintain them to the extreme, where they look like they just left the factory.

Thanks for sharing one of the best scenic train rides in Switzerland. I have made it a MUST for my upcoming trip in mid August. Would have been nice if you included some short high level details on the closest major city to catch the train, the trip duration, cost , if any discounts / Swiss pass benefits etc. I am sure if you google, one can get the details on how to. Would make it much easy for the newbie to just follow from one's experience. A very fine video, and will be watching more of your other vlogs.
