Hey Jordan, Some downtown piece of less then average has been damaging my car. I want to find a camera that is action detected and can be wired directly to the car batt. Hey Jordan! The cam looks neat & video quality is... yes I agree not the best but better than other smaller cams. Audio is just OKAY. Can you please tell me, what's its internal capacity to record? Does it have external SD card slot because I did not see in your review? And how many hours worth the battery is to record videos? Where can I buy it?

that looks like a modified sq11 (same internals, different case), the button combinations are all the same. its unsurprising the night vision mode doesnt work, since they seem to have removed the infrared leds. not sure if the water resistance is worth paying 3x the price of an sq11, though...

I've been in electronics service and production since 1991. If I were the boss I'd say _"make it half the size again and fix the video and audio, and don't come back to me until you've solved it."_ It's not small enough, the quality is horrendous. If they were REAL electronics engineers they would solve it.

Not bad for $30! got lots of vignetting though, also the white balance.. eeeeew, but pretty decent for the size, better than many smartphones out there. I'd probably use this as some secret spy camera or temporary security camera when i leave my desk or something.

It doesn't do anything when I plug it in other than act as a flash drive. I haven't tested plugging it into a Windows machine yet, but I would assume the same.

so its a $15 720p (low quality 720p) cam interpolating to 1080p slapped into a water resistant shell. ($17 amazon prime shipped as low as $8 on ebay) there are a TON of cameras out their that size. just type mini camera into amazon. why is it so hard for these manufacturers to put out something that actually records usable decent 1080p video. Just give me gopro 2 quality video. is that asking for so much? heck at this point I would be happy with TRUE high quality 720p video!

The Polaroid Cube is also magnetic. Slightly bigger. Not waterproof. You need housing for that, which isn't magnetic. The Cube has issues, but used correctly is really good. You don't get sound on Windows machines without converting first. It spans files. If you need sound and have a Windows machine, uploading to KZbin and assembling the final video there is a workaround. It rattles around in the official mount if you say mount it on a bicycle. Creates horrible video. If you plant it on the roof of a car, it'll be rock solid at normal speeds. Good choice for that, except you'll normally sacrifice the bottom third of the picture to the roof. The Cube+ is not all that popular. Sound is way worse than the Cube. Some other issues. Unless you need the app or time lapses, may not be a better choice than the Cube. Not sure the stabilizing is good enough to warrant trading up. GoPro 5 is of course much better. The best use of the Cube is probably mounting on a car without extra gear, and putting in a corner of a room for time lapses of what goes on.

I've been kicking around the idea of picking up the original Polaroid Cube now that the price has dropped to $59 on Amazon, but like you said, the video doesn't look hugely impressive (audio+video). For the price, it's a halfway decent option, better quality than this camera.

The magnet is on the bottom on the Cube. You can also turn it upside down. So it's a different concept than this camera, made for different purposes. If you have several action cameras, I don't see the need for the Cube, unless mounting it on your car without gear is what you want it for. I saw a video where a guy had mounted it on his surf board. Looked great! But again, you can do the same thing with any action camera. The Cube is not a bad choice if you want something cheap to mount on your car, possibly with limited in water use (with housing), and you have a main camera you use for everything else. For those scenarios, I wouldn't use the sound anyway. On a Mac, sound is working without conversion, anyway.
