World's Smallest Woman Jyoti Amge Talks DATING and Dreams of Winning an OSCAR! (Exclusive)

Get to know Jyoti Amge, the 26-year-old ‘American Horror Story’ star who holds the Guinness World Record for being the world’s smallest woman. ET’s Deidre Behar spoke with the actress via video chat from her home in India, where she opened up about overcoming a life of obstacles to ultimately achieve her professional goals. In fact, Jyoti said she has dreams of world-wide fame and someday winning an Oscar. Jyoti tells ET she’s still in touch with her ‘AHS’ co-stars Emma Roberts and Erika Ervin, and explained why she’s so grateful for their friendship. As for Jyoti’s personal life, she explained why she’s not interested in dating or romance; instead, she prefers to keep it platonic with any potential suitors and focus on her independence as a woman.

Jyoti was my favorite actress in American Horror Story. I adore her and I'm excited to see her thrive in acting again. Honestly I don't really think that is the real reason she doesn't want to get married if you watched her special on TLC at one point in the bowling alley she's talkin and she says something about a guy might get intimate with her and after that he is going to leave and he is going to break her heart I think she's scared because of some people's ideas and fetishes of being with little people but trust me there is a man out there for her I would love just to know her just to hang around with her she was so cool

India is definitely shifting culturally to be more egalitarian, but I can imagine that particularly for someone with limited independence to begin with, there's a strong feeling of needing to maintain as much independence as possible. Jyoti knows that she'll spend the rest of her life relying heavily on whoever she lives with; it makes sense that she doesn't really entertain romance as a potential future, but that she could imagine having a platonic life partner of some sort.

My thoughts exactly. But i'm thrilled she has to guts to say she won't get married because she refuses to let someone else take control her life, on Nat'l TV! She doesnt shy away from the subject at all. However, it is really sad that she has to stay single, to stay independent. Men are hardwired to want a sexual mate, and often, children. They are not hardwired to want to care for someone that will displace that option. Even with the best of pairings, she can't fill the physical demands of taking care of herself. She has a wonderful inner person, but reality is harsh and often cruel. And yes, there are a lot of perverts out there and she is wise to avoid the dating scene.

She did, but there's a difference between learning a few lines for the duration of filming and being fluent, or even just being conversational enough to get through an interview. Her English is pretty limited, so she chooses to use a translator to more fully express herself.
