I don’t think it’s great parenting that he makes it as “mom, dad and kids” My dad sees me and my brother as young adults. I’m 15 and he’s 18. We’re not kids for my parents. We’re independent young adults. They don’t forbid us for stuff, they tell us the consequences for our actions. They show us the world. They teach us to become stronger in society. I think being “Strict” isn’t the answer for every problem. Some kids may need it, but you get my point. Just my opinion, not hating on anything, just sharing opinions.

I agree. I actually had been raised in a way that my parents are always talking to me about wrong and right and what happens out there. I have always had permission for everything I wanted, because they know me and they know what I do, they trust me, and until now me and my sibling are the only ones in our group of friends that don't drink, smoke or do drugs.

@@naomi8561 Same here, I'm 15 and I feel like it's my own responsibility to grow up and developed my own sense of right and wrong. And my parents respect that and trust that I will do the right thing and learn from my mistakes by myself. The only punishment I had was when I was 7 and had to sit on the stairs, I never made that mistake again. I've been raised to mature by myself and get to know myself, not to be obedient.

Those girls, I swear are going to be in abusive relationships. They get told what to do constantly, and the “man” is the boss. That’s not teaching girls ANYTHING Also: I don’t think some people are understanding what I am saying. Yes of course kids should learn resilience, and the girls are learning that being on a farm and all which is great, as they help out. But. When the father is the only hope to the family, making the girls framed as the sheep not the Shepard’s and not showing them true aspects of a real father figure? That’s concerning. Of course , mother can be like this too! This has nothing to do with gender, more of the fathers actions Edit: holy guacamole this is the most amount of likes I’ve ever gotten....Thanks! 🥳

@@shelleygriffiths4453 Giving a kid food and roof over their head isnt parenting. At most thats a renter or a carer. If thats all that was needed for parenting then every kid would never need their parents once they become independent. But they do do because actual good parents go beyond that. If you didnt provide those things, then thats just basic neglect. Even the worse abusers provide food and a house because its a legal requirement. A child does respect their parents from a young age because they have no choice. What parents dont realise that as they do grow up, parents will lose the respect, you have to earn it back or actually work to keep it. You dont demand it just because 'you gave birth to them', they never asked to be born first off and second, the parents decided to have a natural birth, but others use surrogates. So off your logic, children should respect the surrogate because they gave birth, not the people raising them.

Your right, They don't need rules, Because there are a lot of children/adults who's parents paid a lot of thousands of dollars to get their kids help, Just so they can keep destroying themselves over and, Over again. So my response to this? If they won't help themselves, Take them to a place where they have nothing to smoke or who to scream at. Like the arctic or the desert even in the middle of the ocean for a month maybe two. And if they survive? they'll be grateful for there life at home. Hilary C ehhh... I think it's quite safe to say that my country is a lot safer and less on-edge than theirs, and if stuff like that makes you cry (and they wren't just upset, they were practically in shock!), then you are NOT going to be ready for the real world. Yes, I get upset when someone disrespects my mom, so what? Hell, I might even get angry! But it hasn't made me cry since I was about... ever. And ok, I'm especially tough as nails, but I don't really know anybody who would cry in said situation. It's actually really sad and far from normal. It's unhealthy

Hilary C Not shaming them, just warning them. I said I was especially tough as nails, I never said everybody needs to be. I'm saying they're too far below the necessary level of toughness. Barely anybody I know who's that sensitive can live a healthy lifestyle. Cry themselves to sleep every night because life's too tough for'm. Depression hits them the moment they leave their parent's protective bubbles because reality suddenly hits them. They are horrible at negotiating for a raise, if they ever even get a proper job in the first place, because they're used to having their mommy and daddy take care of literally everything. Accepting very bad influences because they're too trusting after having lived in such a safe environment all their lives, should I go on?

This Dad is not an “authoritative” figure. He’s just brainwashed his family and made them scared of him and too sensitive. And the comment about her family was unnecessary. He is kinda creepy tbh
@the_goat026 жыл бұрын
He's very very creepy I'm pretty sure he has a couple of bodies in his basement
@taylahknowles63606 жыл бұрын
They were VERY unnecessary comments! He couldn’t for one second not act like he was ordering his own children around and remember he agreed to take this girl in who was obviously troubled in some way. If he was able to show a little empathy and patience I believe it would of gone a lot smoother. You don’t make digs at someone else’s family especially one you know nothing about. Period.

Children from that environment will not survive independently they can stand anything out of the ordinary happening without breaking down in tears
@DunDiditpdx7 жыл бұрын
That;'s not true, because they have good structured lives they will survive better than most! In the real world there are a lot of rules and at work you have to bend to authority constantly, they will be way better off than someone whose parents didn't set any boundaries. Clearly his parenting style is superior considering he's not the one who is so desperate to have their children behave normally that they put them on a tv show
@ayaa56307 жыл бұрын
DunDiditpdx yes but they are too isolated...it seems like once they find out what it's really like they will not survive because they barley interact with other people... And the world is changing every day and they are just way behind

I understand that sometimes you have to set boundaries for child, but having some extremely strict rules is not good. They are people, not dogs. Living in an overly strict family is unhealthy for a child. The child will never learn when to defend theyself.
