It's good to be protective of your children. Sheltering them from the world is dangerous. I was very sheltered. I took a three hour drive with a stranger ( older man) when I moved out at 17. I could have been raped or killed. I didn't know how to order a pizza. I wish I would have been taught how to take care of myself .

I love mark! He’s seems really strict on the outside, but he’s actually very friendly and caring

somewhat strict is ok but knowing the kids passwords and blocking certain channels and knowing what is on the ipods and random bag inspections is too much the kids need privacy too

While strict parenting is okay and it gives children a sense of respect and honesty, completely controlling your kids lives and believing it is your right as a parent is just wrong! Mark and Lynn have a lot to learn as parents. Hopefully their kids turned out okay.

I love watching this program but I think a week isn’t long enough to make any changes as when they go back home me they would soon be back to their old ways…I think it should be a minimum of 2 weeks and depending on their behaviour’s the more they misbehave at home the longer they need to stay away from their home…a week… most see it as a holiday with benefits….

Especially once they are back home with their friends/internet access and will probably quickly forget about their single week away

If parents did the right thing in the first place they would be more respectful adults in the first place they should not spoil their children

Some kids take the wrong path and get in the wrong crowds. The parents can’t monitor their every move. I kinda agree partially with your statement tho x

Soft, " pal" parenting. My way was simple: house rules are there to help us all work together as a family. You want to disrespect us and live your own way? Fine. Do it in your own home.

Watch closely - In the kitchen the strict man is on the edge of blowing up from anger at the same time the strict woman is holding a large kitchen knife, swinging it lowly back and forth then chopping it down on the table. 🤔 Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?

Sickening? How so?? Children ABSOLUTELY need discipline! They MUST have boundaries set! And they need to be reviewed with them over and over until they get it! Autonomy and agency are the 2 most important things a parent can teach a child. Starting at 4 months when teaching them how to self-soothe. Uncapable is not a word, so I presume you mean incapable? EVERY parent is capable of learning the basic skills needed to teach a 4 month old. Start as you mean to go on. I don't know how many kids you have or what their ages are, but it's irrelevant, really. You already know how to raise perfect kids apparently...
