I’m not a scientist but what does height have to do with a shoulder press
@afghani_stallion56133 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyjohnson9639 The longer your arms are, the greater distance the dumbbell or barbell travels when pressing which means a greater range of motion. So in physics, Work is equal to force times displacement(distance). Therefore, a person with short arms does less work than a person with long arms when performing a shoulder press since the distance the barbell or dumbbell travels for them(short person) is far less. It’s all about leverages at the end of the day, that’s why short lifters usually gravitate more toward bench and squat because they have short arms and legs, thus less range of motion and less work, making it easier for them to perform the lift. I’m no scientist, but hope that helped.

@@vinniedeluca2188 also Brian is really lifting with shoulders. Big boy is pressing in a different angle and position. Just a little difference in angle and position makes a huge difference actually - Big boy is basically doing incline bench press with a more upward position, Brian is focusing on lifting with shoulders/doing shoulder press. It's much harder to press those 180s in shoulder press position than in incline bench press position, plus big boy is actually a quite strong guy and strong bencher so incline bench pressing 180s for multiple reps is no problem for him.

No mames! 180 dumbbell shoulder press for 8 reps!!! That shit was a sight to see homie. 🇲🇽 🇺🇸 💪🏽 Lee getting it in. Dude getting big 💪🏽
@IanSmith-xm9ow4 жыл бұрын
That's not a real shoulder press actually. He's doing it in a different position and angle which makes it more like an incline bench press, just in more upward position. Brian, on the other hand, is shoulder pressing. Just a little difference in position and angle makes a huge difference actually, trust me. But yeah, Big boy is a very strong guy too and a strong bencher. Those are some very good numbers he's putting up.

I never leave comments on KZbin, but I had to this time. Excellent colab, the best you guys have done so far in my humble opinion. Great to hear Brian Shaw talking a little bit about his first steps on the sport of strongman and the split of the strongman federations. This one was a great one guys, keep it up, much respect.

@@rpktv3759 Those were not half reps. What drugs are you on dude? He literally brought them all the way down to his shoulders. It doesn't matter if they put the dumbells in his hands, he had to push it up himself. They didn't help him push it up at all. Why are you clearly so jealous and hating? Actually sad you have to lie and try and discredit his lift in the comments. Weak men do that and now we know what you are. A frail little boy. Guarantee you cant even shoulder press 100's;
