A few days ago, I saw a post on tumblr that kinda said this: "whenever I'm out and I see someone who looks like he or she has put a lot of effort in her outfit, or looks like he or she might have been doubting wearing crazy clothes or dyed Hair and all, I will just go to that person and tell them they look great" I mean, to me that would literally be the greatest, and I know it would for other persons! So ever since I've seen that post, I will randomly conpliment people when I think they've done something brave :)

It's really simple, but I worked in retail shops and tourism/hospitality from ages 15-23 (summers home from school, etc.). I learned how wonderful a short chat, or a friendly customer can be, as well as someone appreciating the job you do. I try to thank everyone as much as possible, and give lots of smiles and quick chats. At a wedding this weekend there were so many younger people working as servers for a whooole weekend of dinners and parties for this wedding. I thanked the one girl and asked her to tell everyone they had all been so friendly, helpful, and polite the entire weekend. Such hardworking kids, and I love to make sure people feel recognized for working hard and providing friendly service/assistance

My nan got lost in Glasgow when she was moving from Liverpool to Perth and she ended up picking up two hitch hikers who had a sign saying they wanted to go to Dundee. Because she wanted to get out of Glasgow as she was very lost she asked them if they knew their way out of Glasgow and they did so they directed her all the way to Dundee then she went on to Perth. She said if she hadn't picked them up she would have been driving around for hours. This was before mobile phones and sat navs and all the technology. They were so kind and grateful for the lift but it just shows how 2 worlds can come together and help each other, when most people are too scared to stop and see who needs help. :-) just thought i would share that. Loving the vlogs Louis! Not missed on from day one! Xx

One night my mom asked me to fill her tank up so I went out and at the gas station I saw a woman slowly walking across the street. There was just something telling me to see if she was alright. I pulled over to her side and asked if she needed a ride. It was a very small and forward gesture, but it turned out to be a huge blessing to her. She had been walking for at least two hours from work because she didn't have a ride and had an hour more to go. But only a ten minute drive and a great conversation later she was safely at home. You can really bless someone and make their day brighter by sacrificing a very small amount of your time. Thanks for showing that to a large group of people Louis. You continue to inspire me and the rest of your viewers, showing that kindness is something the world could really use.

That was so nice of you to pick up that hitchhiker! I wish I could do things like that, but as a 21 year old female it's not really the best idea to pick up random men on the side of the road while I'm driving solo, hahah. But holding doors open for others, paying for a strangers coffee, or even just smiling at others is a great way to spread the love!

I think that probably the easiest and yet very meaningful thing that we can do for someone is to listen. I was shopping the other day & one of the employees recognized me bc I shop there often. She seemed really down in spirits and even though I was kind of in a hurry, I stopped and let her just talk to me and get some things off her chest that were really weighing her down. I think that by allowing her to vent it helped her a lot to just get it out and not keep it inside anymore. My advice to the world is to just slow down and take the time to notice the people around you and you will see that it's not hard at all to help someone.

I certainly do agree with you. It's the little things that count. I always try my best to do acts of kindness to spruce up someone's day. Like if a lady is wearing a really pretty bracelet or something, I will compliment her. Also, holding doors open for people is a kind gesture. I always smile at someone I've made eye contact with and I also like to think words can help people feel better, so I say "God bless you" whenever I'm departing from a conversation and/or place.

I agree wholeheartedly about doing the little things for people, life can be so much more fulfilling for you and everyone around you if you just stop and do a random act of kindness. Every now and then I pick up a pizza at a place down the street from me and circle around my city handing them out to the homeless and its such a simple thing that costs so little yet it means so much to those people and I just love seeing the smiles on their beautiful faces.

Very true message, one thing i did was i seen an elderly woman outside lidl trying to get a trolley and becoming increasingly frustrated while trying to get it. When being served in a shop/café/etc I always felt it was the duty of the person working there to wish the customer a happy day - having worked in both - but after my first semester abroad in Brazil where everyone wishes everyone well, I adopted the habit and continued using it when I went home for Christmas. It's heartwarming and amusing at the same time because for some it puts a huge smile on their face to be wished a happy day by the person they're serving and for others they're sometimes baffled that someone has acknowledged them in a positive way. I've come away from the most ordinary of situations with a huge silly grin on my face because it feels great to say it too. :3

Sometimes I might be having a horrible day but I consciously smile and say please and thank you whenever I'm in a shop or any other place like that. People think that because it's their job to put up with a costumer it's ok to be mean at people at service, as if they weren't humans too, with crappy jobs or crappy days.

My dad and I also picked up a hitch hiker when we were up North. He had accidentally been hiking too late to get a lift from the staff at the cafe he was outside, and it was a very long walk to the village we were both heading to so we helped him out. Always happy to help a fellow hiker :) Although, the other day I was in town, and I saw a lady trying to get on my bus, but the driver didn't see her at the door and he just drove off, but I would have had time to get up and tell him, and I really regret not doing anything about it. I will most certainly do more to be a better human being in the future :S

We lend our lawn mower to our neighbours (they're over from Sicily to work and travel for a while) every so often and they give us authentic, home-cooked Italian food as a gesture of thanks. Both houses end up with a smile on their face and a warm heart from the kindness given and received. Also, something else that made me feel like a good human being, I witnessed a three on two brawl on my way home from the shops and stopped to help the injured man until the police came. He had a broken nose and a few scratches, but I felt so good about being decent enough to help. There were other people around, but they just kept walking. It's sad to think about, really.

Saying thank you if someone holds the door for you! I end up holding doors for so long (in school especially) and whole floods of people come through the door without 1. Saying thank you for holding the door and 2. Asking if i would like to go through the door. The once I was on the train home and these two old women were getting off at the same station as me, but they had these big suitcases and were struggling with them. So, as we neared the stop I asked if they wanted a hand getting them off the train & they seemed genuinely shocked that I done that. So, I helped them out and they just kept saying thank you, but I was like it didn't take that much effort from me. I think little things like that give you so much satisfaction at the fact you helped someone who needed it, even if it was just helping them move their bags.

Holding the door for people and simply smiling at strangers are little things that I do for others, I'm not sure if it means anything to them though. But as a fairly petite woman I wouldn't pick up a hitchhiker, but I think it's awesome that you did.

Anytime any of my friend's friends or relatives or my own people are in hospital I visit them almost every day and bring them what they need for a nicer stay. Like nice magazines or books I own or just a snack or a night light for reading or smth. Or if someone is going through bad stuff I visit them and make them a meal or encourage them to go for a walk and talk in nature or something like that. I regularly give food and clothes to the homeless people down the road and I try my best to help whenever I can. There are a lot of small stuff you can do. Baby steps I say, baby steps. :)

Always good to see people who are just plain nice to others and who help out where they can :) Whenever I can I hold the door open for people, it's such a small gesture but it's simple things like that that brighten people's day :)

One thing people should do more of is things like helping people when they drop things or if they are struggling with a door or something heavy, minimal effort but people are always so grateful

most recent that I can think of would be at work this past week ( I work as a cook in an Asian restaurant open kitchen view ) and I noticed an elderly women's cane had fallen off the back of her chair , so I took the time to run over quickly and put it back up for her. I don't know if it was big deal but she smiled and said thx.
