You do realize they sold for 300 for a good minute that's what I paid for mine, spending 800 on treal is not any better either, if treal used decent aluminum like 6061 then it might be worth it to buy em but realistically the plastic is more durable then the cheap aluminum because the plastic bends back where the aluminum just bends....

Minor mods and they are great. The Hammer Rey comes with two problem that actually make each one worse. Tighten the steering by replacing the steering bell crank and put heavier differential fluid in the rear differential and you have an outstanding truck. Love my Hammer Rey, it accelerates straight as an arrow with no AVC.

@@JimmyB55 make sure no dirt is under the pins at all for motor mount, try stock or maybe slightly diffrent gearing maybe it sits better then current setup. Also try getting harder gears.

The front suspension is completely different from the rock Rey to Baja Rey. The LBR has dialed IFS.

I got given one of these after the original owner got sick of replacing the front diff because the bearings are more suited to a 1/10th! can’t remember the exact size,but they are a large id and therefore have tiny balls!! so I machined the diff down to 8mm to suit normal 1/8th bearings and it’s not broken yet! Still a pile of you know what! compared with a comp level irs car though, it’s better suited to lower kv high torque setup I ended up running a 1500kv marine engine and it’s got exceptional run time and unlimited torque

hey Kevin I love your vids but...… (with love) I think your using that rig wrong that truck is based of a king of the hammers rig , a trophy truck . they are not really used to do crazy jumps or bashing in real life they are raced on deserts and back roads of Mexico ,Texas and California where they have lots of dunes and "woops" that why there is so much droop in the travel but I like what you to the truck make me want to pull out my Baja Rey

@@scottmontz6664 I WILL agree with that there are many, many RCs that can be used in different ways, on different surfaces...but, at the same time, there ARE certain RCs that ARE for specific purposes and/or ARE for specific surfaces. To falsely/incorrectly claim (as you are (poorly) attempting to do) that any RC can be used in any manner, on any surface, is 100% pure lunacy. If you truly believe the garage you're spewing, I challenge you to take (and post video of) a 1/10 USGT, or F1 car, and run it (in it's stock configuration) on a dirt off-road track, in the manner that an off-road race RC is designed to be run, and see how well it does. I'll even go so far as to bet you an RC that it does (much) worse than the Rey-twins did. With that, you should easily be able to prove to yourself that, what you said is completely wrong...and, if that doesn't prove to you that certain RCs DO have certain 'purposes', then nothing will, and I refer you back to my final words of the previous paragraph. And, finally, to Kevin (and Steve), yet another wonderful, fun-filled, entertaining video. 🤙🏼

The differentials are the weak link on those Baja Reys and the Losi Tenacity platforms. The rings gears are held on with tiny phillips head self tapping screws. Losi really cut corners on those platforms.

Steve is a legend. My Baja Rey cogged badly on the 2S it came with, geared it down with included gear and removed timing, all good. Beautiful driving trucks.

I've been eyeing the Losi Baja Rey for a good while as a cheaper alternative to the UDR or Super Baja Rey. That one took some good hits. A little tougher than I imagined.

I have tortured my baja rey and been amazed! Only ever had to replace rear axle housing due to the bearing going bad. & the new housings use a much bigger bearing so I doubt it happens again. If you want something fun, you won't have to fix EVERYTIME you take it out.. Losi Baja Rey.

In the first video he didn't realize the sway bars were fake. Did he ever realize the initial punch was set to 4? Or that it's the same battery compartment as the Rock and BajaRey? I love the Hammer and Casey Currie's build and it's a nice job by Losi. Just like King Sling. Glad to see he improved it but the worst car in the last 2 years was the Axial RYFT by miles. He broke it in his garage!

New Traxxas XRT will be out next week on November 4th so get it fast before it’s too late and like I said. It’s twice faster then a Xmaxx and handles a lot better then the Xmaxx and the redid the differential on the opposite on the chassis to make it flat so the drive shaft won’t bent. It’s same size like the Xmaxx 1/5th scale with lower gravity. It look just like the sledge but it’s bigger. And holds 8s 6700mah batteries like the Xmaxx hope you get it and good luck

My losi hammer ray couldnt break after 3 months of bashing, I only broke one, diff case for rear but thats all, its super strong, I upgraded one thing, diff case, thats all I needed for it

The hammer rey isnt ruined its just made to do different things and to make them handle better is easy and you can do it for cheap too. Its by far one of my favorite rc cars. Lock the center and rear diffs with some silicone ear plugs, buy a better servo, and they are awesome. Yes its you have to do that buy if ur stuck with one try it.
