As always great story line, great videography and the friendly camaraderie of the LYFE Motorsports team.

Someone please help me out here. Ive never understood the thing with time attack, or more so why its almost only time attack cars that have so big and obnoxious spoilers and splitters. The goal in almost every motorsport is to get the fastest time around the track so why doesn't the other motorsports like rally also have really big splitters and spoilers. I probably sound really stupid but im quite new to the car scene so i whould appreciate it if you guy helped me

Mostly the Liberal rules. In most race series you have less power, so drag is a more important tradeoff. And mostly race series have strict rules against the size of the wings, splitters etc

Another thing slot of these cars are made super light it helps them keep the power down

So this car is about as fast as the IMSA GTD class? Why not just build a GTD car without all those giant wings? Just out of curiosity.
@LYFEmotorsport4 жыл бұрын
Hi Gus! Great question! It is faster than a GTD car. It also has significantly less development than any of those cars. They are often factory built and or backed. There is something gratifying about building your own car vs buying what everyone else has. One of our favorite parts about Time Attack is the unique and creative approach that every team takes.
@NebuChadNezzarKBDN4 жыл бұрын
@@LYFEmotorsport I see. I was just looking at the qualifying times at COTA for the GTD class. Fastest guy was about a 2:06. So about what you guys ran. Cool car and keep it up;)

Gus We were down about 400hp and only have 10 laps around the circuit in that car when we turned the 2.07.1 In all honesty there is probably a dozen or so Time Attack cars that are faster than us on any given day. They just haven’t showed up to COTA yet. I would expect sub 2 min run in the next couple years.

5:14 cause drifting is boring that’s why. It’s the same shit over and over again. Doesn’t matter if its different track or layout all of your approach are pretty much identical, even different cars and tweaks won’t really make it much different but chasing time around track even slight different approach will make a huge different results and you can always try to try different setups or line to maximize the time cause even a milliseconds counts. And it’s also a lot faster with a lot danger you’re fighting with which adds to the overall adrenaline.
