This is actually a good way to compare the different engineering and design by different nations. It is a great way to study and compare how designers of different nations coped with the demands of the time. I read your comments about dust, and you are right to say that it adds realism of desert warfare. The problem is that the desert sand ruined a lot of machinery, and eventually the dust will damage your models, and it is not healthy for you.

What a great collection, also, it's great to hear John Addison's theme, from A Bridge Too Far. One of my favourite war film themes.

Sweet Collection! Great variety! I build 1/72 scale vehicles in between bigger 1/16 and 1/6 scale pieces. They are very relaxing to tinker with and paint ( no electronics ;o)

@SwissCheese707 Sorry but I can't be of much help as I made most of these kits 20 years ago and my memory isn't too good. I believe the Chaffee (0.44) and Crusader (0.57) were 'Hasegawa' kits. I can't remember the name/make of the ammunition carrier (1.17). The Churchill (1.26) is an Airfix kit (one of their worst!). Many of the kits are 'Airfix and Matchbox and therefore H0/00 / 1:76.

Just watched this again. It's one of those films where each time you watch it you see something different. Great stuff. How long do you think it would take you to build them all from start to finish?

Have you ever built a 1-76 scale tiger or king tiger with complete interior detail? I think it was a fujimi kit but you can see the gun, ammo, engine,drivers compartment. It had the detail you expect from 1-35. Best "little" model ever.

@glennskitchen, Your collection is terrific and I have to say I wasted many spaces for some other scale. I feel 1/72 or 1/76 armour is worthy for any space. I have bought a big bomber in 1/72 scale which cannot accommodate in my cupboard. I also have numerous 1/72 armour completed but insignificant to yours. However why there are no camouflage in german vehicles and why there are no railway vehicles such as Karl or Leopold in your collection. They are great especially Hasegawa ones though old.

No, but it sounds like a great kit.

@cuztanksrule47747 жыл бұрын
No problem! I have my tanks organized by country. I have very few french and italian tanks, so it's best to put both of those on the same shelf.

How do you find the difference between some of the 1/72 vs 1/76 scale ?
@paulhills19672 жыл бұрын
There is a noticeable difference between 1:72 and 1:76th scales but it's not a huge one. I just bought the kits that were available and to my liking.
