There is a currency in horde mode which is used to buy defenses and weapons and ammo.

You purchase Aftermath. Once bought it automatically unlocks horde mode XL. Although I believe there are some free maps of XL regardless of aftermath. ​@@latemarchprod

hi you have 4min 20sec on the factory location so phases.. push the button/begin battle/check the generator at this time timer starts gas-can respawn in random place take medic class with stim-masking , u can play with bots or without or + one guy.
